The people behind the projects.

Behind our work in Manchester and the North West are people focused on understanding what our clients need before a single measurement is taken.

Meet Josh Maddock, Territory Manager for the North West. Josh joined us from the water sector after seven years managing clean and wastewater projects and now builds client relationships across the region. Outside of work he is usually playing rugby, training for an ultra running event, or up a mountain with his labrador Ralph.

Cork to California ⚓

Sarah Sheehan, our Assistant Hydrographic Surveyor in Cork, spent a month with the Woolpert Maritime team in the US, working on hydrographic survey projects across San Francisco Bay.
A month of live survey work, new technology and a brilliant team to learn from — and a reminder of where a career in geospatial can take you.

Welcome back, Sarah 👏

We're heading to INTERGEO - Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management 2026 in Munich, 15–17 September.

Murphy Geospatial and Bluesky are exhibiting with Woolpert — Woolpert is open for business in Europe, with years of geospatial expertise across the UK, Ireland, Germany and Poland.

Let’s talk mapping (from the ground, sea or air), monitoring, reality capture and digital twins.
If you're attending, come and find the team.

Everyone goes home safe. That's the standard, and we don’t move from it.

Following a minor incident on site, we completed a full investigation and used the findings to reinforce safe working practices with the crew involved.

A toolbox talk was delivered to the team, covering the key learnings and the controls needed to stop it happening again.

Across our Monitoring Division, and at Murphy Geospatial, a Woolpert Company, we take the safety and wellbeing of our people seriously. Every incident, however minor, is a chance to stop, reflect, learn and improve.

The Premier League brings the crowds, the noise and the big matchday moments back to stadiums across the country.

Behind the scenes, structural health monitoring helps asset owners, engineers and contractors understand how stadiums and other critical structures are performing over time. By tracking movement, settlement, vibration and displacement, monitoring systems can provide the insight needed to manage risk and support safer, more informed decisions.

We’re looking forward to seeing Romaric Limacher present a Cork case study at Near Subsurface Geoscience (NSG) 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

His talk will explore how integrated ERT and 2.5D seismic refraction were used to investigate a proposed multi-storey residential development in Cork, helping identify potential karst features, variable bedrock conditions and an unexpected breccia fault crossing the site.
Tuesday 22 September 2026 | 16:30–16:50 EEST | Room 3

How geospatial data helps reduce risk on complex development sites

Complex sites need clear, reliable information.

Before construction, regeneration or infrastructure works begin, accurate geospatial data can help project teams understand site constraints, identify risks, and make better decisions.

Murphy Geospatial’s Manchester office supports clients across the North with survey insight that helps reduce uncertainty at every stage of a project, from initial feasibility and design through to construction and asset management.

Our services include utility detection, topographical surveys, measured building surveys, laser scanning, 3D modelling, and monitoring.

The result? Better information, fewer surprises, and more confident project delivery.
