We were delighted to be invited to contribute to the latest edition of CIF Construction Magazine, featuring in an article exploring the vital role of Ireland’s mechanical and electrical (M&E) sector.

“Why Ireland’s M&E SMEs are the sector’s unsung heroes” looks at the growing demand for M&E services across the construction industry, the challenges facing specialist contractors, and the important role that SMEs play in delivering some of Ireland’s major construction projects.

We were particularly pleased to have the opportunity to share our perspective as a medium-sized electrical contractor, discussing the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, from skilled labour and costs to procurement, project delivery and the importance of certainty in the construction pipeline.

It is also a fantastic achievement to see our work at Woodbrook DART Station featured on the front cover of the publication, with our team also featured outside our Head Office in Gort as part of the article.

We would like to thank the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) for inviting us to take part and for providing a platform for the voice of M&E contractors and SMEs within the wider construction industry.

It is great to see the contribution of the M&E sector recognised and to be part of the conversation around the future of our industry.

CROAGH PATRICK FOR PATRICK | 30TH OCTOBER 2026

Colin Burke Electrical is proud to join C & N Construction ltd and Castle Group Ireland in launching Croagh Patrick for Patrick – a special event in memory of our colleague and friend, Patrick Kearney, and in support of two charities providing vital support to people and families within our industries.

We miss Patrick every day, and we are delighted to be coming on board with this special climb in his memory.

On Friday, 30th October 2026, we will climb Croagh Patrick together. It will be challenging, but we will face it together – supporting and encouraging each other along the way.

The climb represents the difficult times we can all face in life. By taking it on together, we hope to raise awareness, start conversations and show that when times are tough, there is strength in reaching out and standing together.

Nobody should have to climb their mountain alone. 💙

Everyone is welcome to take part – whether you work in construction or electrical, knew Patrick, or simply want to support the cause.

All funds raised will support:

🔹 The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity – providing emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.

🔹 The Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA) – providing financial assistance to individuals and families within the electrical industry when they need it most.

This is a joint initiative by C&N Higgins Construction, Castle Group and Colin Burke Electrical – three companies who had the privilege of knowing and working with Patrick.

We hope this will be more than a mountain climb. It will be a day of remembrance, solidarity, support and coming together.

A great day for a great cause!

Last Friday, members of the team at Colin Burke Electrical were delighted to take part in the charity cycle in association with the IEBA – Irish Electrical Benevolent Association.

A challenging cycle through the beautiful surroundings of Lough Derg, but made all the more worthwhile knowing we were supporting such an important cause.

The IEBA provides practical help and support to people and families within Ireland’s electrical construction industry facing difficult circumstances through illness, bereavement, hardship and other life-changing events.

We’re proud to support the IEBA and the incredible work they do within our industry. A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success! 👏Irish Electrical Cycling Club

A fantastic morning at the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final Breakfast Fundraiser held this week, in conjunction with Galway GAA, at the Lough Rea Hotel & Spa in support of our Galway Senior Hurlers.

It was great to see so many local businesses come together to enjoy some excellent hurling chat, share stories from this year's championship, and soak up the excitement ahead of this weekend's All-Ireland Final in Croke Park. The buzz around the room was a clear reflection of the pride and belief across the county as Galway prepare to take on Limerick.

At Colin Burke Electrical Ltd., we are incredibly proud to support Galway GAA and this exceptional group of players, whose commitment, determination and resilience throughout this year's championship have earned them a well-deserved place in the All-Ireland Final.

A special word of good luck to our own Fintan Burke, Electrical Foreman, and John Fleming, Health & Safety Officer. We couldn't be prouder to have two valued colleagues representing both Galway and our company on the biggest stage in hurling. Their dedication, professionalism and passion are a credit to themselves, their teammates and everyone at Colin Burke Electrical.

Best of luck to the players, management and the thousands of Galway supporters making the journey to Croke Park this weekend.

Congratulations to John Fleming and Fintan Burke on their fantastic achievement with Galway Senior Hurlers following Saturday's Leinster Senior Hurling Final victory in Croke Park.

Everyone at Colin Burke Electrical Ltd. is incredibly proud to see two of our colleagues play their part in Galway's success as they overcame Dublin in a superb display of skill, determination and teamwork to claim the Leinster title.

John, our Health & Safety Officer, and Fintan, our Electrical Foreman, continue to represent both Galway and our company with great pride, commitment and professionalism.

It was a memorable occasion for Galway supporters and a well-deserved reward for all the hard work put in by the players and management throughout the campaign.

Congratulations to John, Fintan and the entire Galway squad on a fantastic achievement. We wish them every success as they prepare for their All-Ireland Semi-Final in just under four weeks' time and look forward to cheering them on in the next stage of their journey.

What a night for our team at the Ireland Electrical Awards 2026.

We were honoured to be named Specialist Contractor of the Year and to be recognised alongside so many outstanding companies and professionals from across the industry.
This recognition reflects the expertise, dedication and professionalism of our entire team and the high standards they consistently deliver for our clients.
The award was based on our delivery of the Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail Fire & Security Framework, a nationwide contract covering the inspection, testing, maintenance, emergency response and upgrade of critical fire detection, life safety and security systems across Irish Rail's network of stations, depots and operational facilities.
We are also delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists in both the Contractor of the Year and Commercial Project of the Year categories. To receive recognition across three categories is a testament to the hard work of our people and the trust placed in us by our clients.
A huge thank you to our dedicated team, our clients at Irish Rail, and everyone who continues to support our business.
