A beautiful facade is just the finishing touch. What lies beneath it dictates the longevity of the build. In these photos, you can see a properly prepared wall structure: a breathable membrane and double battening (counter-battens), ready for vertical exterior cladding.

Here is why this invisible air gap is essential:

Moisture & Condensation Control:
The air gap creates continuous ventilation behind the cladding. Circulating air quickly dries out any condensation or trapped moisture after heavy rain.

Protection Against Rot:
By preventing moisture buildup, the main timber frame and insulation stay completely dry. This eliminates the risk of mould and wood rot.

• Ground screws – a fast, clean, and rock-solid foundation.
• Rubber isolation – we NEVER put timber directly on screw poles. A rubber strip protects the wood from friction and moisture.
• Joist tape – the top of the frame is sealed with flashing tape to prevent water from trapping under the boards.
• Thermo-wood – premium thermally modified decking that doesn’t warp, crack, and lasts long.
