ArcSoc makes the most of Trinity College's eclectic collection of buildings by fostering a deeper understanding and affection towards all things architectural. ArcSoc endeavors to furnish members with a practical, historical, academic and appreciative understanding of architecture, but if you just want to have fun in nice buildings, that's cool too. As a brand new society for the 2014/15 academic year, ArcSoc is aiming to become a fresh new beacon for one of the most important visual arts, as Frank Lloyd Wright once said: "The mother of art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization". We aim to connect students with the vibrant and exciting world of contemporary architecture through guest lecturers, paper readings and site visits, as well as encouraging a love for our existing built environment through drawing classes, study trips, and nights out. If we also play with some Lego along that way, much the better. So it doesn't matter whether you're in first year art history or fourth year zoology, ArcSoc is a comfy, relaxed, and most of all welcoming society that aims to help you meet new friends, look at some buildings and make the most out of your time in Trinity.
