Sam Stephenson was a famous architect who designed some famous buildings like the central bank building on Dame St’ and some infamous buildings like the ESB offices on fitzwilliam st (currently being demolished thank god).
Here we see his sitting room complete with full bar which I’m sure held many a party into the wee small hours ,we also see our Jamie working on his manhole which is about as near as he got to an invo to one of Sams parties(only jokin Jamie).Stephenson was also credited with designing Thin Lizzy’s live and dangerous front cover.Sam’s old pad is now a chic hotel and pretty cool it is

I Smell A Rat

Jack Nicholson reckoned he could smell a rat a mile away,well he’d certainly have no problem smelling this rat a mile away .We were called to a fancy estate agents in Renlagh regarding a foul odor in the bathroom.When we called out we thought the smell was coming from a hole in the outside wall beside where a gully for the wash hand basin was,so we filled in this hole with expandable foam.We were proud as punch with ourselves until we got a call the next day saying the smell had returned.When we got there the smell was so bad it would kill a horse.So we started to removed the expandable foam for a closer look.Slowly but surely what looked like a tail came into view so we continued digging.Then we could see the little (we’ll not so little) fecker.We wanted to get him out in one piece so slowly we excavated around him but he still wouldn’t come.Eventually we had to grab him by the tail and reef him out.So when Jack says ‘you dirty little rat’ believe me he doesn’t know the half of it.

"Flushable Wipes" banned

Ask anybody connected to the sanitation industry and they will tell you probably the biggest cause of blockages in sewers is "flushable wipes" so much so the phrase fatbergs has been coined in the UK to describe the accumulation of these wipes and other non-perishable items getting flushed down the loo.

Kerry County Council recently admitted a discharge of effluent into a river in Castleisland was caused by baby wipes blocking the sewerage system.This problem is not just confined to Ireland, it is occurring throughout the world from Sydney to London to New York but now Councils and indeed governments are fighting back and now a bill prohibiting the advertising of these products as flushable was introduced in New York.

This coupled with a public awareness campaign is helping to reduce the effect of these wipes on sewerage systems and their effect on the environment as we all know they end up in the sea.
