Every coating comes off a slab. The trick is knowing what to send at it. Paint grinds. Glue smears under abrasives; PCD shaves it clean. Thick epoxy wants a scarifier before any grinder touches it. Felt-backed vinyl takes a scraper, then a grinder for the glue film it leaves. All ten slides below; the matrix on slide nine is the one to save for the next strip-out job.

Scarifying and grinding solve different problems, and mixing them up either wrecks a slab or leaves a coating half removed. A scarifier hammers the surface fast for coatings, high spots and overlay keying. A grinder gives you fine level correction where the finish matters.

We run the full Von Arx scarifier range, from the VA 10 L for tight spaces up to the VA 30 S and SH for production work.
