As ways of working have evolved, so too have the demands on office design.

For this workplace fit-out, the brief was to create a variety of spaces that support focused work, collaboration and informal meetings, while maintaining the openness that was important to the client's teams.

The glazed offices were designed as freestanding volumes within the floorplate. Glazed corners allow daylight to pass through to the open-plan workspace beyond, while acoustically insulated partitions provide the privacy required for individual offices.

Alongside them, a series of bespoke timber booths create quieter spaces for informal meetings, catch-ups or focused work away from the desk.

This renovation and extension reimagined a traditional cottage to make the most of its spectacular coastal setting. A reconfigured layout, carefully positioned glazing and a contemporary extension have transformed how the house is experienced, creating bright, connected spaces that feel rooted in the landscape.
Featured on RTÉ Home of the Year and shortlisted for the Building & Architect of the Year Awards 2025.

Working with a protected structure is often about knowing what to preserve, what to repair, and where to intervene with restraint.

For this dining room at Georgian House, the original decorative plasterwork was carefully repaired and refinished, with subtle changes in paint colour used to highlight the home's architectural detailing. The original pitch pine floorboards were retained and restored, allowing the character of the room to remain at the forefront.

The material palette for Light Level House, a terraced red brick in Dublin city, was chosen to create a calm, cohesive backdrop to family life.

The extension is finished in crisp white render, with warm orange-framed windows and doors adding depth and character. Terracotta paving extends from the garden to the threshold, echoing the basket weave floor tiles inside and reinforcing the connection between the house and the garden.

The garden was designed as another room, with rainwater from the extension roof collected to irrigate the raised planting beds, supporting the landscape as well as the home.

A look at the before and after of Rose House.

The extension may be modest in size, but rethinking the layout completely changed how the ground floor is used. The new kitchen, dining and play space is filled with natural light and opens directly onto the garden, while remaining connected to the character of the original Victorian house.

This extension wasn't just about creating more space. It was about making better use of what was already there.

For this family of four, keeping as much of the garden as possible was a priority, including the mature palm tree that had become part of the home's identity.

The extension was designed around it. A long, low picture window frames the trunk, while a rooflight above captures the crown, creating a constant connection between the new dining space and the garden.

This project added just 17.5m², but it completely changed how this family uses their home.

The new split-level dining space creates a stronger connection to the garden, while the steps become more than just circulation. They double as informal seating and somewhere to pause, proving that the spaces in between can work just as hard as the rooms themselves.

A built-in birch ply bench provides more storage, paired with the clients' own mid-century dining table and chairs. Terracotta tiles laid in a basket weave pattern add warmth and texture, while the south-facing light changes the space throughout the day.

And, importantly, the cat seems to approve.

The saw-tooth roof was a key part of the design for this extension. It brings natural light deep into the new spaces while referencing the rhythm of the surrounding coastal landscape.

Rather than competing with the original cottage, the extension was designed to sit comfortably alongside it. A careful study of local building types informed the materials and detailing, creating a clear relationship between the traditional structure and the contemporary addition.

This project was featured on RTÉ Home of the Year and has also been shortlisted for Building & Architect of the Year Awards 2025.

In-progress walk-through of our Rathmines townhouse project, which is nearing completion.

This comprehensive refurbishment includes thermal upgrades to the existing building fabric, a full reconfiguration of the internal layout, and a complete interior fit-out designed to better support contemporary family living.
