Today would have been Andrew’s first day at big school. 🤍🎒
I’ve thought about this day so many times… wondering what he would have been like, what he would have looked like, what he would have been excited about, and imagining him walking off to school with his big brother and little sister.
I know this week will be a really hard one for lots of mummies and daddies who should be watching their little ones start school too. The little uniforms, the new shoes, the big backpacks… all the things that should be happening, but sadly aren’t. 🤍
Andrew is the reason Butterfly Bears came to be. From something so heartbreaking, somehow came something that has given us so much to keep going for. The flowers, the seasons, the little moments… it has given us a way to keep his memory alive and to feel like he is still a little part of everything we do. Martin Mc Hugh
And today, while his brother and sister keep growing and taking their own steps, we’ll be thinking of the little boy who should have been right there with them. 🦋🤍
