Horizon Group are currently seeking a BER assessors and trainee BER assessors to join our newly opened Fermoy office in Co Cork. The role will involve carrying out domestic BER assessments.

Company car, fuel card, laptop & phone provided to the successful candidate. Salary dependant on experience.

The Requirements:

-Ideally have a degree in building surveying (or similar).
-SEAI approved domestic BER training course.
-A full clean driving licence.
-Strong organisational skills.
-Good IT skills.

This house was heavily deteriorated prior to our arrival with dry rot being well established in the lower quarters. With thanks to our hard working conservation team, they got to work and are currently in the process of completing this project.

A historical site due to the exodus from here in 1764 to New York, the ceiling was heavily damaged through leaks from the roof. This project required fixes to the roof, ceiling and walls due to the high levels of moisture.

Another conservation project we are currently involved in through our conservation expert Teddy Duffy is the Lough Derg Basilica.

We were requested to take a look at the Basilica due to the high levels of moisture within the walls. Following testing on the island, we decided that walls showing moisture intake required repair and this project is currently still ongoing.

Here is a recently finished Conservation Project Doohamlet Church which we were involved in through our conservation expert Teddy Duffy.

This was an unusual project due to the majority of the labour being voluntary. However a huge redevelopment was required due to factors such as the levels of moisture within the walls.

One of the most surprising elements of this project was following lifting the existing floors, a clay tile was found underneath. Due to the quality of tile, this was then reused on the new floor.

Overall this was a great project to be involved in and Doohamlet community can be very proud of their effort and the end result of the project!
