A big one for us this week: a big screed job at Sackville Place, Dublin 1.

Getting a mobile screed factory into the middle of the city takes some planning. The lorry is set up on site, the underfloor heating is down and the hose has been run out along the corridor, ready for the Ultraflo pour.

If you've ever laid insulation over a subfloor, you know how tedious it can be. Uneven surfaces and the painstaking task of cutting around first-fix pipes can easily drain your time and patience.

Does poured floor insulation (TLA) actually replace rigid board insulation like PIR or Celotex? Yes, completely - no boards, no cutting, no gaps.

What's the U-value like compared to PIR? 175mm of TLA achieves a 0.15 W/m²K U-value, on par with the same depth of PIR.

Do we do traditional sand and cement screed? No - we only work with Ultraflo liquid screed, designed specifically for underfloor heating.

How fast does Ultraflo actually dry? You can walk on it in 24-48 hours, compared to about a week with traditional screed.
