A busy forecourt below. A solar installation above.

Here is our project at Toyota Long Mile in Dublin: 144 JA Solar panels, a 64.8 kWp rooftop array and a Sigenergy system with battery storage.

There is plenty in this one to look at, from the showroom to the rooftop array. Fair play to everyone involved in bringing it together.

A different view of Ballycoolen, and a roof worth a look.

We installed 54 JA Solar panels at DCT in Dublin: 29.16 kWp of solar capacity, paired with a 20 kW Huawei inverter. Have a look at the finished installation in the video.

You’ll know the pool. You might not have seen the roof like this. 🏊

Our solar installation at Graiguecullen Swimming Pool includes 132 Jinko panels, a 60.06 kWp rooftop array and a 50 kW Sigenergy inverter.

Lovely to share a different view of a familiar Carlow spot.

A bird’s eye look at a sizeable solar project in Carlow.

This video follows the build at Burnside Eurocyl, with a system design specifying 990 Leapton panels, 504.9 kWp of solar capacity and four Sigenergy inverters.

The energy demand is substantial at this local manufacturing business and now that energy demand can get support from the solar array working on its roof.

The difficult part of sizing a home-energy system is that the home does not stand still.

Alan O'Reilly's needs have already changed with the addition of a heat pump, and they may change again. Designing only for today's demand could leave very little room for tomorrow.

That is why the GoodWe ESA system uses a stackable approach. The inverter and separate battery modules form one platform, while additional compatible storage can be inserted later if Alan needs more capacity.

The result is an installation that solves the present requirement without closing off the future—simple to expand, considered from the start and supported by the team who installed it.

In this expert interview, Colin Sheehan of GoodWe explains how the system was designed around Alan and Weather, both for today and for what may come next.

Alan's original solar system did exactly what it was asked to do. Three years later, the home was preparing to ask more of it.

The existing system had generated and exported a strong amount of electricity, but the move to an air-to-air heat pump meant household demand was going to rise. The question was how to meet more of that demand with solar generation rather than simply drawing more from the grid.

The answer was a major, carefully planned upgrade: eight additional panels, 21.76 kWh of rated battery capacity, a new inverter platform and backup capability, all designed around the home's next stage.

The original installation had not failed; the home's energy needs had moved on. The result is a new system that builds on three successful years of solar, matching new technology in the home with more of the clean energy needed to run it.

Episode 9 of our project with Alan and Weather. Follow the installation here, then follow Alan's own series as he puts the expanded system to work.

Backup power sounds reassuring in theory. Its real value is much easier to understand when you name what the home cannot do without.

At Alan O'Reilly's rural home, a power cut can affect the well, heating, lighting and internet connection. His previous setup offered a double socket; the new requirement was to support the essential circuits more naturally.

The GoodWe system provides a manual changeover, allowing Alan to move those essential loads off-grid during an outage. When his forecasts show a storm approaching, he can also prepare by charging the batteries in advance.

The result is not a promise that nothing will ever interrupt the grid. It is a practical plan for keeping the important parts of the home running when it does.

Episode 10 of our project with Alan and Weather, with Garry Eaton explaining the backup system and Alan putting its value into real-world terms.

You might know Portlaoise Motor Rewinds for getting motors and pumps back in action. Here’s a look at what we’ve added up on the roof.

30 Jinko Solar panels. A 14.55 kWp array. A 10 kW Sigenergy inverter.

A tidy commercial solar installation for a local engineering business.

You’d expect to see plenty of machinery at Templetuohy Farm Machinery. Here’s a look at the kit up on the roof. ☀️

At the Laois depot, we’ve installed 133 Leapton panels across two roof sections, with a 61.18 kWp solar array and a 40 kW Huawei inverter.

Great to share the finished rooftop installation at a business serving the farming community.
