Gerry Gleeson Dream Homes is an architectural and project management practice specialising in the area of "one off" single houses built on peoples own sites. I have been working in this area since 1985 when I joined Sean Mulryans Ballymore Homes Ltd., then the countries leading provider of bespoke Family Homes. My greatest joy is to guide my clients through the process of achieving their Dream Family Home and ending up lifelong friends.

Progress update 🧱🏡

Just look at this stonework! This one is being built by our sister company, The Backwall Building Company, and it's really coming into its own.

That natural stone finish, the arched windows, the dormer detail — every bit of this one is turning out exactly as we'd hoped. Having design and build under one roof means we get to see a project through from that very first sketch right to days like this — and we couldn't be happier with how it's progressing.

Throwback for Gerry, hard at work on the drawing board back in the late 80s. Pencil in hand, calculator close by, plans taking shape one careful line at a time. Fast forward to today, and each design starts the same — by Gerry on the drawing board with pencil and paper in hand.

It's one of the things that makes working with a family-run practice a little different — decades of experience, and a hands-on approach that's never gone out of style.

Full planning permission secured late last year ✅ and this lovely couple are now getting ready to begin their journey to build it in Co. Wicklow!

The site came with real character — a mix of old stables, storage buildings and the existing cottage. Our brief was to weave all three together, adding just enough new to make the layout work beautifully for modern family life.

It was a genuinely challenging design with a lot to balance. Delighted to have achieved full planning and can't wait to watch this one take shape 🏡
