Another journal entry for the inspired by image by

I used all my granulating water colours to first paint some pebbles, then doodled into them with a fineliner and write down words that resonated with me. To complete the page, I added a quote by John Kabat Zinn.

Thanks to .palette , .horl, and for hosting the challenge.

You, my friend are luminous. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

This journal spread is all about being an old soul, old fashioned, memories of a time when you dressed up in velvet and went to tea houses with walls covered in wallpapers.

I wanted to explore muted browns and reds and pinks against some glitz and jazz, old fashioned with the spark.

The techniques in the spread are also inspired by and challenge. I have used watersoluble metallic paints, molding paste and motifs from nature. Thanks you luminous souls.

Spring floral wreath following wreath for prompt spring flowers

I couldn't stop adding more elements to the spring wreath and then finished off by spraying the paper and adding splatters, depicting pollen and seeds in the air and the cyclical continuity and presence of nature. I also enjoyed using my one and only one colour in my pallette- the lovely arabic gold for details.

Watercolour painting of the princep ghat in kolkata west bengal against the backdrop of vidyasagar bridge. Made this on the prompt your home town for the challenge

My home town is kolkata but I now live in Ireland so this challenge took me down on a nostalgic memory lane.

Today's brunch was a labour of love by the community, right from the vegetables grown by one of the few food growers in Ireland, to the sourdough bread made by the french bakery, all in the humble town of Athenry, County Galway.

Having the luxury of such wholesome fresh ingredients meant an inspiring dish. Here I have made roast asparagus with lemon and parmesan, smashed purple potatoes with feta and cumin, stir fried red onions with a pinch of sea salt, a vegetarian Irish pudding and lightly toasted sourdough bread.

The simple things in life are the ones we cherish the most.

My daffodils in watercolour and ink for challenge. I started by using a spray bottle before putting the first wash of yellow colour and then went on to add some greens, blues and purples to give a little bit of pop to the yellow. Don't think I succeeded in that but definitely learnt that yellows are on of the colours which I love but find hard to work with in watercolours.

My water colour crocus flowers following youtube tutorials. Loving the process and the paintings, even if it means that sometimes there's a blob on the flowers. It's a very mindful activity, to see the water colours crisp on the edges, when it's dry enough and when it's completely dry. It's always a bonus that now I can point out the flowers planted by the lovely volunteers from tidy towns here in Ireland.
