Dubai is planning an ambitious new mobility project called The Loop — a 93 km climate-controlled walking and cycling corridor designed to make active transport comfortable year-round in a city known for extreme heat.
The concept envisions a fully air-conditioned path that connects major parts of the city, encouraging residents to walk or bike instead of relying on cars. It’s part of Dubai’s broader 20-minute city strategy, aiming to make key services reachable on foot or by bike for most people.
Beyond transport, The Loop could include community spaces, parks, and wellness facilities — and even use renewable energy and recycled water to support sustainability goals.
