Jungle Padel Balikpapan

Presenting a building façade concept inspired by the reflection of a padel ball.
Interior is designed with a focus on spatial optimization through directed lighting.

The circulation transition toward the locker facilities applies a natural terracotta scratch-finish paint.
Inspired by East Kalimantan’s most iconic textile, “Ulap Doyo.”
A combination of polished concrete flooring with neutral-toned furniture enhances the interior ambiance.

The core of this design lies in the implementation of biophilic design principles.
Natural lighting and efficient cross ventilation are maximized throughout the space.
The main padel courts utilize long-span steel structures to achieve spatial efficiency.
The amphitheater not only serves a functional purpose but also becomes an aesthetic focal point of the interior.
Overall, the Jungle Padel site plan responds thoughtfully to the context of the Balikpapan site,
Balancing project scale efficiency with an immersive architectural experience.

Gaharu House in South Jakarta is a renovation project that retains approximately 70% of the existing building structure, reflecting a commitment to sustainability while respecting the original context. The modern tropical design approach is expressed through open massing, a balance of solid and void, and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The existing inner court is reimagined as a swimming pool area, functioning as a microclimate cooling element. The presence of water, lush vegetation, and generous openings promotes natural ventilation and optimal daylight, creating a cooler and more comfortable environment within the dense urban setting. A second-skin façade is applied to buffer the harsh eastern and western sun exposure, while also providing privacy and visual rhythm.
Natural materials such as stone, wood, and greenery are carefully selected to create a calm and grounded atmosphere—transforming the house into an urban oasis, a place to momentarily escape from the bustle of Jakarta. The architecture becomes a dialogue between nature, the client’s needs, and the existing house, while minimizing energy consumption as a core design principle.

This homestay is located in the Prambanan area, responding to the strong cultural and natural context of its surroundings. Designed as a retreat with three bedrooms, the project blends traditional Javanese architecture with a modern tropical approach that is honest to climate and materiality.
The architectural expression is articulated through four Joglo roofs as the main defining elements. Rather than functioning merely as symbols, the Joglo structures are reinterpreted in a contemporary way through mass composition, exposed brick, timber detailing, and generous openings. Two of the Joglo roofs are designed with transparent coverings, functioning as skylights while also enhancing the stack effect within the central void, allowing natural ventilation and daylight to pe*****te deep into the interior.
Natural materials and warm textures are combined with a clean, modern architectural language, creating spaces that feel open, calm, and deeply connected to place. On the western side, a swimming pool is strategically positioned to support microclimate cooling, acting as a thermal buffer while also forming a transitional space between the building and the surrounding landscape.
Overall, the architecture engages in dialogue with its environment—the open rice fields, the silhouette of Mount Merapi, and the cultural heritage of Prambanan—offering an immersive stay that is inseparable from nature, culture, and climate.

Perancangan interior ini dikembangkan untuk merepresentasikan karakter Suku Dinas Sumber Daya Air yang profesional, efisien, dan modern. Konsep desain mengangkat gradasi warna biru sebagai identitas utama yang merepresentasikan elemen air, dipadukan dengan material bernuansa natural dan aksen warna hangat untuk menciptakan suasana kerja yang lebih seimbang, nyaman, dan visualy fresh.

Pendekatan bentuk organik diterapkan melalui gestur lengkung pada elemen ruang dan furnitur, guna menghadirkan kesan ruang yang lebih dinamis sekaligus meningkatkan ergonomi dan kualitas sirkulasi. Zonasi ruang disusun secara terstruktur untuk mendukung alur kerja yang jelas, menjadikan interior ini sebagai wajah baru ruang kerja pemerintahan yang fungsional, tertata, dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan kerja masa kini.
