Role Description
The Accountant role at Europe Match GmbH is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Szeged Area. In this role, the Accountant oversees daily bookkeeping, records financial transactions, and maintains accurate general ledger entries. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, processing payments, reconciling bank accounts, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The Accountant supports monthly and annual closing activities, assists in budgeting and forecasting, and helps prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders. The role also involves ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations, collaborating with auditors, and working closely with other departments to provide clear and timely financial information.
Qualifications
-Strong foundational accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
-Proficiency with accounting software and SAP, as well as solid skills in spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel.
-Ability to prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist in financial analysis.
-Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
-Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
-Understanding of local and international accounting standards and compliance requirements; experience with audits is an advantage.
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA or local equivalent) are a plus.
-Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG environments is beneficial, as is familiarity with cross-border transactions within Europe.
