In the size of 1.6 hectare, it is an urban design exercise which revitalized the deserted and empty infra-structure and transformed the precious land resource into a public open space for enjoyment of community. Located in Tai Kok Tsui, the site was occupied by massive box culvent underground serving as main drain from the inner city towards the harbour. The land above the infra-structure was protected from any development and therefore left empty for many years. The existence of other infra-structure facilities including under tunnel protective zone for MTR further limited the buidabilty and development potential for any type of project. The team t**e the challenge and planned the park according to a user-centered approach. Echo with the water-front charateristic, the design theme and concept of “waving and ripple” was considered and visualized in the walking/jogging path and also in the building/facilities design.
