We are sharing the latest renderings of our award-winning Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Toilet Competition Entry, which we won back in 2016 titled ”Spatially Social”.

SOCIAL SEGREGATION:
The ever rapid growing city pulls people further and further apart. From country to country, borders separate us; From neighborhood to neighborhood, walls divide us; from cubical to cubical, we surrendered ourselves to the ruthless forces of segregation. The first moment of contact of different nationality should not be estrange by such, instead, of a liberating moment that unites all nation.

TOILET WITHOUT BORDERS:
We aim to demolish boundary that alienate us from each other. We confront each other, face to face, as we fulfill ours. We enjoy the liberation of mobility as we maintain our daily reclusiveness with the hatch that maintain your privacy. By the reduction of redundancy of walls, we increase the restroom capacity by 160% while increasing the free floor area by 300%.

Make BFA Great Again, 2021.

Here at DIU, we keep abreast with the latest industry news and updates, such as the updated tactile tile design currently being tested by various government departments at Cityplaza 3.

We truly appreciate the updated design to aid wall climbing and vertical travel and the additonal security of an electrical cable for tethering. We believe that BFA tactile tiles should not only be limited to horizontal travel, but vertical and diagonal travel for a true "barrier-free access".
