Our vast experience in retrofit, maintenance and repair comes from our experience in the field of marine from 1969 but also from having permanent, qualified , with long experience and excellent know-how staff. This, allows us to undertake the complete project from design and analysis to manufacturing and installation, for the new building industry. On 6–7 October, PSYCTOTHERM had the pleasure of attending the 20th Annual Conference of Marine Technology, held at the Eugenides Foundation.

The conference brought together professionals from across the maritime sector for two days of technical exchange, fresh perspectives and meaningful conversations around the developments shaping marine technology today.

For PSYCTOTHERM, taking part in events like this is an important opportunity to stay connected with the wider marine engineering community, exchange knowledge and strengthen relationships across the industry.

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗩𝗔𝗖 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗣𝗚 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿

🔧 A vessel-specific challenge called for a vessel-specific solution.
To address the vessel’s heating requirements, the PSYCTOTHERM team engineered and fabricated a custom electric heater at our facilities, followed by its onboard installation in Antwerp.

From engineering and in-house fabrication to final installation, the project was developed around the requirements and limitations of the existing system.

This is the kind of work where retrofit engineering matters most: adapting the solution to the vessel, rather than the vessel to the solution.

A special thank you to everyone involved in the successful completion of the project.

At the 20th Annual Conference of Marine Technology, organized by the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology on 6–7 October at the Eugenides Foundation, ASSO Subsea presented Avra and Andromeda: two new vessels currently under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industry in Shenzhen.

For us, it was a unique part of the conference, as PSYCTOTHERM is honoured to be the selected HVAC supplier for both newbuildings.

Delivering projects of this class is a strong vote of confidence in our engineering expertise. Subsea support vessels endure demanding, long-term missions with large crews on board, making reliable HVAC&R systems essential for maintaining optimal conditions across all accommodation and technical spaces, ensuring uninterrupted operational performance.

On the sidelines of the conference, we also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Anastasios Kopanidis and Mr. Nikolaos Anastasiou from ASSO Subsea.

Swipe through: what started as a bare steel frame above the production floor is now our new workspace. Engineering, sales and service will work just above the shop floor, with the factory in view through the windows.

Final touches this week, moving in over the weekend.

PSYCTOTHERM recently joined the HEMEXPO business mission to Spain, visiting some of the country’s leading shipyards and presenting the capabilities and solutions of the Greek marine equipment industry.

The visits offered a valuable opportunity to meet directly with shipyard teams, exchange perspectives on current and future projects, and explore new areas for cooperation within the European maritime industry.

A big thank you for the warm welcome and insightful discussions to Zamakona Yards, Freire Shipyard, ARMON SHIPYARDS, Nodosa Group, GONDAN Shipbuilders, Astilleros de Santander (ASTANDER) and Navantia.

Yesterday, our team joined a Greek business delegation visiting Nodosa Shipyard in Galicia, part of a reverse mission organised by ACLUNAGA and HEMEXPO, connecting Greek marine equipment and service providers with the Galician shipbuilding industry.

A good opportunity to see Nodosa's facilities first-hand and talk through where Greek and Galician marine industries can work together.
