Successful Inspection of Inert Gas Generator KANGRIM

During a recent onboard attendance, a full operational check and performance verification was carried out on a KANGRIM Inert Gas Generator system, ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements.
The scope of work included:

- Verification of start-up sequence and safety interlocks
- Assessment of combustion performance and flame stability
- Continuous monitoring of oxygen (O₂) levels at the inert gas outlet
- Functional testing of the control system and analyzer feedback loops
- Inspection of scrubber operation and overall system condition

During operation, a deviation in O₂ readings was identified, with values not fully aligned with expected operating conditions despite stable system performance.
Further investigation confirmed that the deviation was related to analyzer drift, a known and common characteristic in oxygen measurement systems over time.
Corrective actions involved:
Fine zero and span adjustment of the O₂ analyzer (Xendos 1800)
Verification of analyzer response using reference conditions
Validation of signal stability and control system feedback

Following the adjustments, the analyzer response was restored, providing stable and accurate O₂ readings within required limits. The system was subsequently verified to operate safely and reliably under normal conditions.
Routine calibration and verification of oxygen analyzers remain essential to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inert gas systems in marine applications.

Boiler & Burner Health Check Completed Successfully

Completed another health check inspection on a Kangrim Boiler and Oilon Burner as part of planned maintenance procedures.

The scope of work:
Visual inspection of boiler
Burner assembly inspection and cleaning
Boiler control panel internal inspection
Fuel system check (pressure, filters, valves)
Ignition system and flame sensor testing
Burner sequence test (pre-purge, ignition, flame detection, normal operation)
Combustion air fan inspection and air damper calibration
Safety valves and interlocks functional test

The equipment was found in good operational condition. Minor adjustments were carried out to optimize combustion performance and ensure safe and efficient operation.

Yacht Control System Overhaul 
Recently completed a full inspection, repair, and overhauling of the engine control levers on a yacht, aiming to restore smooth operation, reliability, and precise maneuverability.
During the initial assessment, the system presented:
• Stiff lever movement
• Delayed throttle/gear response
• Mechanical wear
• Poor lubrication and misalignment
To ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability, a complete overhaul procedure was carried out, including:

Successful Inspection of Composite Boiler KANGRIM – Manual & Auto Mode ✅

We are pleased to report the completion of a thorough inspection of our Kangrim composite boiler — including comprehensive checks in both manual and automatic mode to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
During the inspection, our team:
Conducted a full examination of the boiler’s components, burner, servomotor, pressure switches, solenoid valves, verifying their good operation
Tested operation in manual mode: confirmed correct procedure for start-up and shutdown, burner ignition, and oil-servo load adjustment — ensuring manual control works reliably under all conditions.
Switched to automatic mode and validated that the boiler control system responds correctly to operational parameters (water level, pressure, temperature), with safe modulation between minimum and maximum load. 
Verified proper function of safety devices, water-level sensors, valves and blow-down/drain systems, thereby confirming the boiler’s readiness for safe continuous service.

Our technical team recently attended on a vessel to perform troubleshooting on the Wärtsilä Spemos System.
During the service, the local control panel PCBs were replaced, followed by a complete functional check and system verification.
After thorough inspection, testing, and calibration procedures, the system was successfully restored to its normal operational condition.
This intervention ensured full reliability and operational readiness of the Spemos monitoring and safety functions.

We recently completed a successful adjustment of the Pump Room Transmitters and C.C.R. (Cargo Control Room) indicators aboard a vessel, ensuring optimal performance and precise monitoring of the ship’s cargo operations. The accurate calibration of these systems is critical for maintaining safe and efficient pump operations, allowing for better control and response during cargo handling.
Our experienced team meticulously adjusted the transmitters, ensuring they provided accurate readings to the C.C.R. indicators. This work not only enhances the operational reliability of the vessel but also reduces the risk of discrepancies during cargo loading and unloading. The adjustments ensure smooth communication between the pump room and the control room, ultimately contributing to safer and more efficient vessel operations.
