Block722 is an Athens-based architecture studio, founded in 2009 by architect Sotiris Tsergas and interior designer Katja Margaritoglou. The team combines Greek and Scandinavian heritage, as well as interdisciplinary experience, and creates work that feels confident, natural, and timeless. The studio undertakes a variety of work, fr

om residential to commercial and hospitality, managing in-house all stages of architectural develop-ment, from concept design, through to construction and delivery. Solutions always incorporate a focus on quality materials, a crafts-based approach and collaborations with local artisans and artists that interpret the Mediterranean spirit and traditions for the 21st century. An architectural ethos that places a sense of balance at its heart is among this boutique, yet dynamic practice’s guiding principles. At the same time, Block722’s design solutions are strongly led by each project’s contextual needs and the client’s brief. We're Hiring | Interior Architect

Our studio is looking for an Interior Architect with 5+ years of professional experience to join our team in a full-time, studio-based position.

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented designer with a strong understanding of interior architecture, technical documentation, and high-end project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the architectural team throughout all design stages
• Prepare documentation packages, including FF&E schedules, material schedules, and Bills of Quantities
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors

Requirements
• 5+ years of professional experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in joinery design
• Strong knowledge of FF&E specifications and schedules
• Fluent written and spoken English

Considered a plus
• 3ds Max and/or Rhino
• Revit
• Experience in construction documentation

We're Hiring | Senior Architect Engineer

Our studio is looking for a Senior Architect Engineer with 8+ years of professional experience to join our team in a full-time, studio-based position.

We are seeking a highly motivated architect with strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and proven experience in leading projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead architectural projects across all design stages
• Develop design proposals based on the project brief
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors
• Review project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
• Participate in design development, technical detailing, and implementation meetings
• Apply strong knowledge of the Greek Building Code (NOK), permitting procedures, and the e-adeies platform

Requirements
• 8+ years of professional experience
• Experience in high-end residential and/or hospitality projects
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong technical detailing and construction documentation skills
• Working knowledge of Rhino and Revit (BIM)
• Construction site experience and understanding of project ex*****on
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English

Sun Salutation Room

Block722’s “Architects of the Year” installation is a spatial manifesto that blends architecture, interior design, art, and storytelling.

Inspired by Mediterranean spirit and Scandinavian clarity, it explores contrast as harmony and simplicity as depth.

The experience begins with the primal elements - earth, air, light.

As visitors move through the space, they transition from intensity to calm, from exposure to protection, from shadow to light.

The installation becomes a ritual of reconnection with place, material, memory, and self - an atmosphere activated through all senses.

At the heart of the space, a rock acts as a vessel of memory, engraved with three Block722 projects that trace a path of internal journey and evolution.

The “Greeting to the Sun” invites visitors to pause, observe, and remember: every project begins with a lived experience - and ultimately returns to the light.
