🌱 What is sustainability, really? A label, or a design principle?

For the Leaf project, the answer was clear. Sustainability had to merge into the architecture, not decorate it.

Inspired by nature and shaped by responsibility, the building demonstrates how form, structure, and performance can work as one. The structure leans gently on the ground, creating shelter while maintaining balance with the surrounding landscape. Timber, glulam, and steel form a lightweight system, supported by cross ventilation, rainwater collection, and a modular, dismountable construction strategy.

In the Leaf project, sustainability is not a checklist. It is the foundation that shapes the design, the structure, and the way the building belongs to its environment.

🌿“THE LEAF” - Architecture Meets Nature in the Heart of Italy.

This project represents the sensitive redevelopment of an agricultural shed into a sculptural, organic architectural form inspired by a leaf, created for the Sibillini Mountains National Park Authority.

This is more than a building. It is a symbol of harmony: a glulam and steel structure shaped like a gently leaning leaf that settles naturally in the landscape without invading it. The 50-meter diagonal arch (the “stalk”) and the cross beams (the “veins”) create a structural skeleton that feels alive and in balance with nature.

Inside, the space is generous. Double-height volumes, angular entrances, and large windows allow soft, diffused light to enter. At night, the leaf appears suspended, highlighted by the glow of internal ceiling illumination.

Sustainable materials were used throughout: engineered timber (glulam), steel, preoxidised copper roofing, and photovoltaic panels that support energy generation. The roof also collects rainwater and channels it to the grey water storage.

The building is designed with its entire life cycle in mind. Modular components allow fast assembly and future disassembly, reducing emissions, construction time, and overall environmental impact.

This project reflects a commitment to sustainable architecture and innovative design. It demonstrates how development can work in synergy with conservation.

Drawing from Greece’s timeless relationship with the sea, this visionary stadium facade curves like gentle waves—fluid, graceful, and alive with meaning.

By day, its sculpted form embodies elegance and function. By night, it transforms into a living sculpture—LEDs breathing colour and rhythm into the architecture, creating a dynamic fusion of art, technology, and design innovation.
This isn’t just a facade. It’s a statement. A symbol of how real estate development, architecture, and investment in design can create cultural icons that inspire and endure.

Wow, the world of interior design never ceases to amaze me! In 2024 alone, the innovation and creativity on display are simply breathtaking. Imagine dining surrounded by self-made artworks in Sweden's Persona or living amidst a blend of furniture and art from different eras as seen in Toronto's Daphne. It's like stepping into a new dimension where trends are mere suggestions rather than rules. What truly caught my attention was the fully functional rollercoaster in The Frontal Lobe's office in Stockholm - talk about an extraordinary break time! This year also celebrated projects like Aesop Diagonal in Barcelona for its sustainable use of local materials and the stunning Mineless Heritage in Taiwan that turned an old coal mine into a serene retreat. As we anticipate the trends of 2025, with sculptural lighting and dramatic drapery making waves, it’s clear that the intersection of functionality and beauty continues to push boundaries.
