The first rain after a long, hot summer!
Τhe scent of the wet earth, the shiny leaves of the plants and that beautiful feeling of nature coming back to life.What a bliss for the senses and the soul!
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a private cooking experience at our home-restaurant. Chef Michalis prepared fresh tomato paste and a traditional Kefalonian meat pie, sharing the flavours,aromas and traditions of our island!
And afterwards, a romantic meal for two in the garden, surrounded by the rain, the scent of the earth and the serene setting.
Some moments simply cannot be planned.
They just happen and become unforgettable memories!

The Old Almond Tree:
A Taste of Kefalonia’s History
Almonds have always been deeply connected to Kefalonia’s culinary tradition. Famous mandola, delicious almond pies(cakes), almond macarons and the almond liqueur-rosoli.
But fresh almonds from the tree ,mean much more than delicious flavours. Historically, during the poor and difficult years of the island, families would carefully keep almonds in jars, preserving this precious source of nourishment for the months ahead. The almond harvest was an important part of their food supply and helped many families survive among with other local land products.
During our farm tour, visitors don’t just see the almond tree — they get to experience the traditional way of opening the almonds themselves, breaking the hard shells with a simple stone. It is something people in nowdays ,they have never experienced before!
It’s a genuine, hands-on moment that brings a little piece of Kefalonia’s agricultural heritage to life !

This summer, your love and support for En Kefallinia have exceeded anything we could ever have imagined!From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
As you know, everything we do here is deeply personal. It comes with love and devotion, with hard work and care and every single day, a piece of our soul goes into it!
After an incredibly busy, intense and beautiful summer, we have reached a point where we feel we need to pause, take a breath and rethink the way we will operate moving forward.
For now, our morning and lunchtime food service will be temporarily closed(till further notice).
Our Cooking Classes, Private Dinners, Farm Tours, and Gastronomic Experiences, however, will continue as planned. All existing bookings remain valid and we will continue to welcome new bookings for these experiences.
En Kefallinia is our home, our life and this is our true story.Sometimes, is hard finding the right way to protect what we love and continue creating with the same passion, care, and authenticity.
We feel grateful and, honestly, relieved to finally be able to share this with you.
