First installation of Fox ESS 5.2kWh batteries today! Admittedly, not the most exciting of pictures, but as I often get asked, ‘how much room do batteries take up’, I thought it was worth sharing - a picture paints a thousand words, as they say.

First installation of a Givenergy AC coupled 5.2kWh battery storage system. This is system is perfect for someone that lives in a flat and wants to reduce their energy costs, by making the most of off peak electricity. Or someone that has an existing solar system fitted, but has no battery storage connected to it.

Starting 2024 with a bit of fault finding. The Solar Installation was fitted 10 years ago and a fault was causing the inverter trip, but only when it rained. The cause was identified as water ingress on one of the MC4 connectors and which in turn had damaged the DC cable. Whilst the panels were off they were treated to a good wash to remove all the the algae / lichen that had formed over the past 10 years. They should be good for another 10 years.
