Completely unofficial statistic but I’m fairly sure Pulls Ferry is one of the most photographed and drawn buildings in

North & Hawkins Building Consultancy had the pleasure of undertaking a periodic inspection and had the unusual view from the inside out.

The building is open in September as part of the Heritage Open Days. We also heard you can get a nice cup of tea ☕️ and cake 🎂

We’ve had lots of instructions recently from Housing Associations to private landlords to investigate damp issues. A good example today to share today was for a damp defect other than condensation.

The tiling above the bath had seen better days and when checked was blown allowing water to pe*****te through the grout. The next door bedroom was suffering from dampness through a solid masonry wall.

After pointing this out and recommending remedial works to the client was very happy.

Although this was an easy inspection to undertake as Building Surveyors we do have to be aware not all clients know as much about buildings and how they are meant to work. A quick visit from us can can pinpoint issues and allow them to repair and carry on.
