My gorgeous kitchen was finished nearly 2 years ago but in my efforts to post in chronological order (and having been AWOL on here for months - sorry!) - I have only just got round to putting it on here...

Thank you to Logan Laurrance Reed for all his hard work, Wickes for the kitchen, Paintmaster.co.uk for the F&B French Gray, Sophie Allport for my favourite peony range, 𝐖𝐒π₯π₯𝐒𝐚𝐦 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐒𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬 for the kitchen mirror, John Lewis & Partners for the island bar stools, for the clocks, faux flowers, mats and more, Habitat and The Range for lighting, Platinum Products Direct for the amazing sash windows and French doors and for the most beautiful dresser...

Sorry for my absence on here - life has just taken over rather of late...

But as of yesterday I am in heaven!! My oil fired range cooker Esse is warm again. The kitchen doesn't have any radiators in it as when she's lit she warms half the house...

But I forgot to get the chimneys swept in the summer so have been waiting patiently for the sweep to come so she could be lit.

The only bad news is that she uses oil. Lots of oil. As does our central heating/hot water. And oil is currently sitting at around Β£1 a litre which is double what it normally is (only 18 months ago it was down at 25p a litre)! We've got a 2400 litre tank which will be extortionate to fill (it's about 2/3rds full atm) but we're warm and I love her.

Puppy Spam! 9 kilos of Dudley playing with 45 kilos of Dougal (and counting since Dougal has discovered he loves puppy food at the age of 5 πŸ™„πŸ€£). And Dudley always wins...cos Dougal lets him. He's such a lovely big brother! ❀️❀️

Note when Dougal knocks Dudley, he immediately goes and checks he is ok before the playing continues...

And the utility room today looking much bigger! And now Logan Laurrance Reed has removed the old toilet/sink, we are officially a 6 bathroom house not 7.

It's so exciting 🀩🀩

Does anyone else love the smell of rotting old whatever it is when you get into the bones of an old house, or is it just me?! πŸ™„πŸ€£

This was my utility room yesterday morning... much as it was 5.5 years ago when we arrived apart from a few extra holes in ceilings/walls, a new window and an old one blocked up. Our unvented cylinder lives in here too which provides all our hot water (works brilliantly).

We've had the utility room cabinets/worktops for 16 months now (they were delivered with the kitchen and island - they match the island 🀩) but Logan Laurrance Reed has been so busy we haven't got to it. Until yesterday...

I know I am on catch up so am not supposed to post real time stuff til I've caught up but I couldn't resist it!

This is part of the new extension - photos were taken at the end of 2020. With the gorgeous sliding sash windows in, the plastering done, coving up, skirting on, doors hung, electrics, plumbing/new cloakroom in, oak flooring down and probably lots more I can’t even remember…it was time to get the PaintMaster paint out. They will mix you any colour you like – this is Farrow and Ball French Gray at a fraction of the price – and the paint quality is fab. It goes on brilliantly and the coverage is really good.

Originally the big room was to be a music room (with some space for yoga) but… it seemed to make more sense to turn it into a games room for the kids and the old games room could then become Logan Laurrance Reed and my office.

The two doors at the bottom on either side lead to bedrooms 6 and 7 which are great when ZS Groundworks & Fencing Ltd (my eldest two sons) come to stay as they can have one each with their partners and children and they can make as much noise as they like and we can’t hear!

The last photo shows the state of the fireplace I found for a song on FB Marketplace which needed some TLC…

The list of things that were actually done (all by Logan) is clearly somewhat longer including taking down the lath and plaster ceiling (one of my least favourite jobs although Logan Laurrance Reed did this one - along with everything else)... The tiles came up...the first fix electrics were done, the new french doors went in, plasterboarding was done and so many other things I can't even begin to remember...

The steels were boxed and plasterboarded and suddenly we could see the size of our new kitchen... 😍

At the time we owned Hellbent Engineering Ltd (which we sold soon after in April 2021) so Lake and Nicholls on the same industrial estate in North Walsham did the steels for us. They were bloody heavy!!
