🔧⚡ What happens if the power goes down and your battery eventually runs out?

For customers looking for an extra level of backup, a generator can be integrated alongside a battery system to provide another source of power during a prolonged outage.

In this video, Dale talks through fitting a Hyundai generator alongside a Sigenergy system, including the Gateway takeover that allows the backup setup to work together.

This can be particularly useful for homes or sites where maintaining power is important, giving another layer of resilience beyond battery storage alone.

⚡ Sigenergy system
🔋 Backup power
🔧 Hyundai generator integration
🏠 Greater resilience during longer outages

It’s not something every property will need, but where reliable backup power is a priority, it’s another option we can design into the wider energy setup.

🤔 One of the questions we're asked most...

"What size solar system do I need?"

The answer is different for every property.

We consider things like:
🏡 Roof size and orientation
⚡ Your electricity usage
👨‍👩‍👧 Household size
🚗 Whether you own (or plan to own) an EV
🔋 Whether battery storage would benefit you

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all package, we design every system around the individual customer.

That's how we make sure you get the best return on your investment.

🏢☀️ Solar isn't just for homes...

Businesses across the North West and North Wales are turning to solar to help reduce operating costs and protect themselves from rising energy prices.

Commercial solar can help:
⚡ Lower electricity bills
📈 Improve return on investment over time
🌱 Reduce carbon emissions
🏢 Enhance the sustainability of your business

Every commercial project starts with understanding your business, your energy usage and your goals, so we can design a system that's built around you.

Here's a look at one of our recent commercial installations.

☀️ We like to spread a little sunshine at DomElec… but the latest energy price forecasts aren’t quite as bright.

New forecasts suggest UK household energy bills could rise significantly in January, with estimates putting the typical annual bill at around £2,150–£2,165 if current wholesale energy pressures continue.

It’s not the news any of us want to hear, but it does highlight something we talk about a lot – having more control over the energy you use and what you’re paying for it.

☀️ That’s where solar can make a real difference.

Generating your own electricity means buying less from the grid, while adding battery storage can give you even more control over when and how you use that energy.

🔋 Store excess solar for later
🌙 Make use of cheaper overnight electricity where suitable
⚡ Reduce your reliance on the grid
📱 See exactly how your energy is being generated and used
💷 Gain more control over your household energy costs

Solar won’t stop energy prices from changing, but it can reduce how exposed your home is to those changes.

If the latest forecasts have got you thinking about solar or battery storage, speak to the DomElec team. We’ll happily talk you through the options and what could make sense for your home.

🛠️ Why we don't install budget equipment

There are hundreds of solar products on the market.

We spend a huge amount of time researching manufacturers, testing products and selecting equipment we know will deliver reliable performance for years to come.

We look for:
✅ Long-term reliability
📈 Strong performance
📱 Excellent monitoring software
🛡️ Great manufacturer support
💷 Genuine long-term value

Because when you're investing in solar, quality matters.

It's one of the reasons our customers choose DomElec.

BIG STORAGE! This week we installed a huge 48kWh Fogstar battery stack for a domestic customer in Chester .
This client had specified his own system and requested that we supply a Fogstar unit to work with the 8kW SunSynk inverter and solar array that we’d installed a few months back. (The client has since added his own Home Assistant equipment and wiring).
Although we recommend SunSynk batteries be matched with inverters, the inverters are able to work with multiple batteries manufacturers.
Likewise, these Fogstar BMS are able to work with a range of inverters .
