Hi there! Key Kabin is now closed until Jan 4th, but I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the customers who used the oldest key-cutting shop in the town centre this last 12 months. Your business is greatly appreciated especially in these challenging times for all. You can still message on fb or text 07774 172574 but I can't guarantee how quickly you'll get a response.
I hope to see all our existing customers and any new ones who like quality key cutting or a lock for the house, in the New Year and onwards.
Have a great Xmas & New Year-hope Santa gets you something nice! ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ’ท๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ€โ˜ข๏ธ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ––

Hi there! Thankfully we've reopened today and I have to say a big thanks to those who've already been in and told me they'd waited for my little ole shop to open up again because we're apparently the best keycutters in town.

As I'm now flying solo, shop hours are going to be a bit different for the foreseeable future to allow me to fit in some of the external work I do (letting agents, schools, etc).

So its going to be:
Mon/Tues 9-4pm
Weds Closed All Day
Thurs/Fri 9-4pm
Sat 9-2pm

If you're coming into Wrexham just for us, then give the shop number 01978 355362 to ensure I'm not on a callout
OR
text me on 07774 172574 if I'm not around and I'll get back in touch to sort out a time/day for you.

I'd like to thank anyone that uses us and hopefully you'll continue to do so for many years to come.
Ps, if Ryan or Rob need keys next time they're in town then can they call by before 2pm on a Sat or else I'm late for the game too.

Many thanks, Lee

Great bit of Charles St history from the Wrexham Museums page! Looks odd seeing the corner of the street with no Kabin in the pic, but very interesting to see how its changed ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Go follow their page if you like local history! Thanks to Cub for the heads up ๐Ÿ––

Beginners' Guide to the History of Wrexham

Someone from outside the area might not realize from this photograph that Charles Street is now one of Wrexhamโ€™s most attractive streets (apart from the neglected Bumbles that awaits a more caring owner). Charles St was originally known as Beast Market Street, as it led from the produce markets in High Street to the farm animals on sale in the Beast Market (now St Georgeโ€™s Crescent), and the field beyond, known as Caeโ€™r Cigyddion, where the butchers pursued their trade.

No one knows the origins of the current street name. It didnโ€™t come into use until a century after the reign of Charles II, let alone Charles I. It seems unlikely despite the townโ€™s Jacobite tendencies that they would name a street after Bonnie Prince Charlie. Were there any other important Charleses in 18th century Wrexham to explain the choice?

Picture: The bill posters on the left announce a Landscape Art exhibition in the Council Chamber (of all places!), a travelling circus coming to Bellevue Park, a motorcycle scramble and Jack and the Beanstalk as the townโ€™s panto; late 1947/early 1948.

HELLO WREXHAM ๐Ÿ‘‹ !!!

Long time no see and I hope you're as well as can be as we creep out of lockdown. Well, as from today (Monday) we've reopened the shop, and it was good to see as many customers as we did considering towns still pretty quiet.

Opening hours for the foreseeable future are going to be 10-4pm, and if I've headed on a callout then you can text me on 07774 172574 to find out how long I'm gone for (don't worry the number will be on the door).

There will be a limit on 3 customers at a time inside the shop, so I'd encourage you to drop your keys off first-let us work our magic-then pick them up on your way back to the car/helicopter/yacht.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, as we continue to provide the Wrexham area with the keycutting & locksmithing service you've come to expect from the Kabin for over 30 yrs.

Many thanks, Lee.๐Ÿ––

Well, that's it for a while folks!

I'm not really one for posting on the business page every time we do something exciting like open a carton of milk, or to retell the constant comments of how devilishly handsome I am, but these are darker days my friends.

Like Boris said, this is necessary for the health of the country and so, the Kabin will be closed until we're told otherwise.

As for any emergency callouts, I'll be looking into that situation as leaving people with unsafe houses is not something anyone would want, particularly as thieving scum won't be heeding any calls to stay home.

Queries/questions on locks and such can be sent to me on [email protected]

The Kabin has been part of Wrexham for well over 30 yrs, and hopefully it'll survive for another 30.

Sadly we can't give Pete Dempsey, who after many years has cut his last key, the retirement drinks send-off we'd planned for this Friday, but the summer will be a nicer time for it anyway.
Thanks for everything this last 5 yrs Pete, its been an utter pleasure and I shall miss you immensely.

Until we re-open, I would like to thank you all for your support over the years, and look forward to seeing you on the other side of this terrible situation. In the meantime, stay well.

So long and thanks for all the fish.
