People of Wrexham! These are 3 things worth checking before Christmas rolls around...

1️⃣ Worn, old or damaged locks
If your lock is old, loose, damaged or difficult to operate, don’t just put up with it. Nights are drawing in and thieves will look for weak links.

2️⃣ Doors that don’t open or close properly
If any of the external doors at your home or business need a hard a shove, lift or shoulder barge before it will lock, it’s probably time to get the lock replaced (before it gets completely stuck, or the internal mechanism breaks apart).

3️⃣ Unlocked doors
Seems obvious but thieves will try back doors just to see if they are regularly left unlocked. Don’t let them have the advantage. Make sure your door is locked, even when you are at home.

I’m not saying burglars are walking down your street in droves with a clipboard in hand, but they are out there, and they do look for opportunities at every turn.

So what should you do if your door is sticking? Oftentimes a really simple lock upgrade makes all the difference.

I think all parents have some story or another about getting locked in/out of somewhere with a baby in tow! 😅

Be careful about booking with the big boys, the quoted price on the phone can often be totally different to the final bill.

It's a common misconception that locksmiths have to damage your door to get back in. My methods are always non-destructive.

It's all about making sure you're back inside and safe as houses when I leave. 🙂

One of the best things you can do for your social media...

Is create content as if people are seeing what you do for the first time.

Because most of them are. 🙂

And your regular followers? They probably don't keep track of what you post as much as you think they do. So it's good for them too. A recap, or refresher if you will.

The next time you make a video or write a caption, explain everything for a stranger. Who you are, what you do and how your business makes people's lives better, easier, happier, safer, whatever, etc.

It really works, give it a go.

Your composite door lock can break in the open position as well as closed. This can be really scary. Securing a home is often time-sensitive.

This door don't jiggle-jiggle, it LOCKS. 🔒

I'm working on a lot of conservatory and patio doors at the moment for mature residents around Wrexham.

These doors can be considered a weak point of a house by thieves.

That "weak point" is usually an old lock that can be manipulated or wrenched. The good news is that this can be replaced with something much more heavy duty. You don't necessarily have to replace the whole door.

It's much more affordable that way and makes your home a fortress instead of a sitting duck.

If you have a relative who lives alone, now is a good time to get it done and ticked off your list.
