A very special handover this week. 🏡⚡🍰

We recently completed the electrical installation at this customer’s beautiful property in Cheshire, and after more than a year since our first meeting, they were finally able to move into their dream home this week.

Projects like this are always special. You get to see the ideas right from the early planning stages, work alongside the client and other trades throughout the journey, and then watch everything slowly come together into the finished home they had imagined.

It has been a pleasure to be involved from first fix through to completion, helping make the electrical side work practically, safely and neatly around the overall design of the property.

So, to mark the occasion, we thought we’d whip them up a cake to welcome them properly. Here’s the cake holding its own little housewarming party. 😄

Congratulations on your new home — we hope you enjoy every minute of it.

Planned. Installed. Celebrated.

A beautiful his and hers bathroom space, finished with the perfect lighting. ✨⚡

This cottage bathroom has been carefully put together with a back-lit mirror and vintage-style lighting either side, perfectly matching the character and décor of the room.

The client clearly has very good taste — this is one of those bathrooms where everything just works beautifully together.

We carried out the first fix earlier in the project, then returned for the second fix as the bathroom was nearing completion. As with many renovation projects, there were a few changes along the way, so extra care was needed to make sure everything was fitted neatly, safely and exactly where it needed to be.

Freshly finished spaces deserve proper protection, so dust sheets down, careful working, tidy finish, and no mess left behind.

Because beautiful bathrooms and electrical dust are not meant to be a matching pair. 😄

Elegant. Tidy. Thoughtful.

Turning a spare room into a proper space of your own. 🎶📚⚡

For this project, the customer wanted to transform a spare room into a relaxed man cave/library — full of music, speakers, memorabilia, literature, a computer setup, a ceiling sound system and a comfy sofa for switching off properly.

With rooms like this, the electrics make a huge difference. It’s not just about adding sockets and lights; it’s about thinking how the space will actually be used.

Desk area? Lighting needs to be positioned so you can work comfortably without awkward shadows. Music and speakers? Cable routes and positions need planning early so everything looks neat and performs properly. Sofa area? Great lighting nearby, but not harsh lighting directly overhead when you’re trying to relax.

Share the room layout with us early on and MBEC can help with practical suggestions for socket positions, speaker locations, lighting zones, switching, cable routes and future flexibility — making the room work better for you, not just look good once it’s finished.

From spare room to personal retreat, it’s all in the planning.

Planned. Practical. Personal.

Some jobs need skill, patience… and a ladder that can do yoga. 🪜⚡

Here’s Josh making full use of the Little Giant ladders — the perfect bit of kit for awkward staircases, tricky angles and those “how are we getting up there?” chandelier moments.

They’re ideal for manoeuvring, setting up and positioning safely in places where a standard ladder just wouldn’t be practical. The fold-out bases also give extra stability, which is exactly what you want when working at height with both hands full and a chandelier waiting to go up.

For us, having the right tools is a big part of doing the job properly. It means we can work more safely, protect the property, and still get a neat, tidy finish in awkward spaces.

Swipe across to see the finished chandelier moments later — because apparently it’s frowned upon to just leave Josh stood on the stairs admiring his ladder. 😄

Safe. Practical. Professional.

Rain? Lovely. Just adds atmosphere. 🌧️⚡

Here’s Josh out testing in the rain, proving that when we say we’ll be there, we mean it.

At MBEC, once your booking is confirmed, we do everything we can to honour that commitment — whatever the weather. Whether it’s testing, fault finding, installations, small jobs, larger projects, domestic or commercial work, you can count on us to turn up, get stuck in, and do the job properly.

Someone once said "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing." We’re not entirely sure they were thinking about electrical testing in the rain… but the point still stands. Waterproofs on, tester ready, job done safely.

No matter the job, big or small, we aim to be reliable, professional and committed from start to finish.

Rain. Shine. Reliable.

Lighting makes all the difference. ✨⚡

We’ve had the pleasure of working with this property in Bunbury over the past year, where a full rewire was required as part of extensive renovation plans.

As the project has developed, we’ve worked closely with the client to plan and install different lighting solutions across the property — including the barn, garage, driveway and the tree-lined route leading through the grounds.

The aim was not just to “put lights in”, but to make the lighting practical, reliable and in keeping with the look and feel of the property. The right electrical planning can help highlight key features, improve safety and visibility, and make outdoor spaces feel properly finished without spoiling the aesthetic.

Getting an electrician’s point of view early in a renovation can make a big difference. We can help with cable routes, switching positions, future maintenance, lighting control, safety, and sometimes suggest solutions that work better visually and practically than the original plan, often saving money along the way.

Basically, we like making things light up nicely… without making it look like a supermarket car park. 😄

A beautiful property, a great ongoing project, and some lovely lighting results now starting to take shape.

Practical. Considered. Built to last.

From “that’ll be fun later…” to neat, safe and ready to use. ⚡🚰

The first photo shows our first fix wiring left protected in Wago boxes ready for the bathroom mirror to arrive. Then the sink was plumbed in, and the pipework ended up right across the back box — not ideal when an isolation switch still needs to be fitted.

Rather than bodging it in, we worked around the finished plumbing, tidied the pipework layout, kept the wiring clear, and fitted a neat fused isolation switch tucked away out of sight but still accessible when needed.

Isolation switches matter because they allow equipment to be safely turned off for maintenance, fault finding, replacement or emergency use — especially for items like illuminated bathroom mirrors, shaver points, fans and other fixed accessories.

Sometimes electrical work is not just about fitting the switch. It is about thinking ahead, working with other trades, and making sure the customer gets the best, safest and tidiest result possible.

Because nobody wants a bathroom cupboard full of pipe spaghetti and mystery cables. 🍝⚡

Safe. Tidy. Thought-through.
