This is not our usual type of post but one we feel needs to be addressed.
For the last 4 years, we have had parking regulations in place. As of recently, we have had a lot of complaints in person and online.
We are not the only business on this business park with parking regulations in place but seem to be the only ones who get targeted for having it. Although we should not have to explain ourselves, after reading so many comments which are just untrue, we feel as a small business we have no choice but to comment.
The parking regulations were brought into place 4 years ago for many reasons. The main reason being our spaces were being used by people who did not intend to use our business, but instead would utilize the spaces as free parking for hours on end. This meant our own customers were unable to park because there were no spaces left which ultimately led to us losing potential business. Please note, we have 9 allocated spaces for our staff and our customers which we pay for. It is not and never has been a “shared” carpark. The 9 spaces to the left of the building which clearly state “WC B PARKING ONLY” on the floor, are our allocated spaces. We pay for them.
We apologise for any frustration caused however, there are several signs inside and outside of the building stating the parking regulations. In the last couple of months, our staff have received an endless amount of verbal abuse; being sworn at, tickets waved in their faces, threatening behaviour, the list goes on.
The signs are there and they are clear. The cameras are on 24/7 as we are open 7 days a week. Customers who intend to use our business have no issues with these regulations. Parking is free for our customers. The only people who seem to have an issue are those who have blatantly ignored the signs and parked there anyway which has then resulted in a fine.
We feel slightly embarrassed having to make a post about parking spaces however when you see your business being torn apart online by people who have never even stepped foot inside the premises and are hoping that karma catches up to us, we thought it was time to address it. Anybody would think we were the only business in the whole of Worcester with parking regulations in place. We also do NOT make any money from these fines as many people have stated.
If you don’t intend to use us, do not park in our allocated spaces or you risk a fine. We will not tolerate anymore threatening behaviour within our building when it comes to our car parking spaces. We pay a lot of money in rent and those spaces are included in that.
We know a lot of people still won’t understand our reasoning and that’s okay. But since having the parking regulations, our spaces are always available for our bathroom customers, trade customers and staff, and that’s all that matters. We aren’t sure what more we can do to make it clearer.
