Before’s and After’s for on ‘Inside Outside Living’ project..

This one I called ‘Inside Outside Living’.
The soul objection for this project was to compliment their beautiful contemporary extension and corner bifold doors.
After this post I will post the before and afters to show you how I achieved this space.
There was over 400-500mm difference from the existing garden to the kitchen floor height when I started.
Every area considered and had a nod to the exiting extension, complimented tons and material used throughout .
The decking area, perfectly level with the paving and kitchen height with sufficient falls. In the same tone as the existing overhang cladding, picture framed with 45degree miter’s throughout and notched out for the LED’s around the step.
Level linear batten cladding, stained in same tone, both sides of the design to bring cohesion.
Large black limestone split face tiles on the two raised planters and the brick pillar again for cohesion.
The main wall which separates the two zones (creating an avenue for the entrance and a backdrop to the seating area). Is the obvious nod to the extension with the same white k-rend and black bassalt copings.

My clients are busy people and travel a lot which was a concern for the planting. So I installed an irrigation system with two different zones for pressure reasons.
Zone 1 would do all the planting bed by the deck and that first palm.
Zone 2 would do the rest, pipes all hidden under steps through footings etc. Large trees and shrubs would have soaker hoses surrounding their root structures and the rest on drippers larger ones for large plants small ones for smaller plants on the same line.
All to come on 4 times a day twice a day etc depending on what time of year it is.
The tree fern, the roots are it truck so that has a soaker hoses surrounding the crown to accommodate that. Now no problem watering throughout the year all automated even on holiday without a pipe or hose visible.
As I said on my first video we will dress the space there is nothing worse than a large expanse of boring paving with no zones or any reason for that space…

The plan was always to dress the area with an aluminum louvred gazebo then a beautiful sofa set.

Throughout the summer at weekends and spare days I built these entrance walls for my mate Pete.
This was a side project along side my main project in Worcester.
There will be an automatic canter leveled gate installed at a later date 8m wide to close the gap between the two walls.
The business is a water sports facility so I rendered the walls in a powder blue, completed the pillars with bespoke pillar caps.
The copings I hand cut, sanded and polished, bespoke to the radius of the walls.
Pete routed out the 12mm slots for a drip strip and the LED tape to be installed to illuminate the wall at night.

Overall very happy with the finish, it was an honor to of been a part of for their 10th year anniversary.

In case any of you wondered how I get these batten fences straight and level with irregular pieces of wood. Over the years I’ve made mistakes and now I have developed a skill installing these fences.
Thought ide share this is the only way enjoy 🔨🪚💪👌
