🌼 Are you Team Lawn or Team Nature? 🌼
Oliver and I may have staged a tiny rebellion against Daddy (sorry Neil 🤣) and secretly planted some daisies into the lawn.
Why? Because a lawn doesn’t have to be a monoculture.
Traditional lawns can be great for family life, but by allowing a few daisies, clover, selfheal and other flowering plants to mix in, you’re creating valuable food sources for pollinators and other beneficial wildlife. Every flower counts, especially when habitats are disappearing at an alarming rate.
To make sure our little wildlife project survives, we even installed a daisy protection cage… because certain people in this house have been known to mow first and ask questions later. 👀
A perfect lawn isn’t always the most wildlife-friendly lawn. Sometimes a few “w**ds” are actually one of the best things you can have in your garden.
The bees are happy.
The butterflies are happy.
Oliver is happy.
Neil remains unconvinced. 😂
Would you let daisies and clover grow in your lawn, or are you reaching for the mower?
