The ensuite transformation.

Following on from the main bathroom, here’s the matching ensuite.

The existing layout already worked well for our clients, so this project was all about refinement rather than redesign.

We gave the space a contemporary refresh with classic matchboard panelling, finished with character moulding and painted in a colour that complements the rest of the home.

Behind the scenes, we removed unsightly pipework by installing a concealed Geberit UK cistern, creating a cleaner, more streamlined finish. We also repositioned the shower recess to improve the symmetry of the room and provide a practical space for everyday shower essentials.

Sometimes the best renovations aren’t about changing everything. They’re about keeping what works, improving what doesn’t, and paying attention to the details that make a bathroom feel both beautiful and functional.

Two bathrooms. One home. A complete transformation.

Today we’re sharing the main bathroom. The ensuite transformation will follow in our next post.

Our clients had lived in this home for many years and wanted a much-dreamed of refresh. Although the main bathroom was only slightly larger than the average, it offered enough space to completely rethink the layout.

By relocating the toilet and basin onto the main wall, the room immediately felt more open, balanced and functional.

A concealed Geberit UK cistern hidden within a new stud wall removed unsightly pipework, created clean, uninterrupted lines and provided a practical shelf for everyday essentials.

Every design decision was about making the space work harder without increasing its footprint, resulting in a bathroom that feels modern, timeless and built to last.

We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately… but for good reason.

Over the past few months we’ve been busy transforming kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces for our clients, which has left very little time for posting!

A bathroom designed for slowing down.

This full bathroom brings together comfort and function, with a calming palette from Farrow & Ball setting the tone - using Wimborne White and Pigeon to create a soft, relaxed feel throughout the space.

A short extension allowed us to build a dormer window, opening up the room and creating space for a window seat. A bespoke vanity unit adds warmth with its oak worktop and practical storage.

Features include a steam shower room for a true spa feel, heated floors for those colder mornings and an extra-large bath tucked beneath the eaves, perfect for switching off at the end of the day. The LED mirror adds a clean, modern finish.

Designed to feel as good as it looks.

And what makes it even better - almost four years after buying our beautiful home, we finally have a bathroom (and my wife can stop moaning at me 😊)

This client wanted a full refresh of their larger-than-average bathroom, bringing it up to date with clean lines and modern finishes while still respecting the character of the home.

We dropped the shower tray to floor level (as always 😉) to create that seamless walk-in feel. Large-format tiles were chosen to enhance the sense of space even further, making the room feel open and cohesive.

The oak-effect flooring adds warmth underfoot and beautifully complements the age and style of the property.

Simple LED strip lighting, on separate switches, gives flexibility bright and practical by day, softer and more atmospheric by evening.

This 1930s property had a generously sized bathroom that was ready for a complete update including reworking the traditional separate bath and shower layout.

Rather than taking the easier route often seen in homes of this era, we went back to brick. That allowed for a full re-arrange, with updated pipework and electrics throughout, creating a layout that works far better for modern living.

One of my favourite details is the timber-framed window surround with architrave - a simple feature, but one that adds warmth and character back into the space.

Keeping the finish clean and timeless was key:

• minimal tiling
• matchboard panelling
• karndean flooring

Together, it completely brought the room back to life.

The client had a clear vision from the start, and it was a pleasure helping them bring it together.

Creating a room where nothing stood before - for my most difficult customers yet!

This was one of our most challenging projects to date especially as the brief came from my wife, and the space was for our daughter.

Every detail had to be right.

We chose limestone floor tiles to complement the home’s character, while matchboard panelling keeps the walls warm and carries through the classic style of the house.

With no natural light, the design focus was on creating a sense of space and brightness. Carefully positioned LED feature lighting and a large mirror work together to visually enlarge the room and keep it feeling light and calm.

At just 1.6m x 1.8m barely the size of a modern en-suite, thoughtful planning was essential. Space was at a premium, so every element had to serve a purpose.

The finishing touches:

• Underfloor heating to keep the stone floor warm
• A demister mirror to avoid steamed-up mornings

A room built from scratch, designed with care, and finished with quality and most importantly, a very happy little customer.

Transforming spaces is what we love, but hearing how much a new shower room or bathroom has improved someone’s home truly means the world to us.

Every project is a team effort from design to installation, and we’re proud of the care, detail and craftsmanship that goes into each space we create.

After ➡️ Before ✨

This might be one of our top 5 ensuite transformations yet and it’s easy to see why. Absolutely beautiful.

We were tasked with updating this ensuite in a home around 20+ years old. The room was completely original, and like many modern ensuites, the footprint was limited. The challenge was to maximise storage, improve usability, and create a space that felt calm, open and contemporary.

The client wanted a generous basin unit with plenty of storage, and loved the idea of a vessel basin. By using fitted furniture, a reduced-depth cistern unit and a Matki shower door that opens inwards, we were able to make the most of every inch. The floor-mounted shower tray and tiled recess also add to the illusion of space, giving the room a clean, streamlined finish.

A compact ensuite, transformed into something truly special.
