A recent job in Sneachill. A very old Coldseal Tallon window mechanism. These have been obsolete for many years. Many businesses say a new window would be required. There's other businesses that supply different locking mechanisms but I've found them to be poor.
A few years ago I worked out a fantastic alternative mechanism with new locking points for the frame, and have used them since. They fit and work perfectly.

A recent job in Pershore. Due to the door closing, and the customer being locked out a couple of times she wanted an easy solution.
I renewed the standard nightlatch with a rollerbolt nightlatch. A rollerbolt nightlatch needs to be manually locked from both sides of the door.

A euro cylinder sticking out more than about 3mm is a major security risk. It makes it so easy and vulnerable to 'lock snapping' (a method used to break into properties).
The customer had no keys for it after moving into the property, they could still lock it from the inside by turning the thumbturn.
I fitted a British Standard lock cylinder that was the correct size.

This job was a bit of a disaster when I arrived. The original fault was a jammed key that wouldn't turn. The outside half of the lock cylinder had been snapped, causing the firing pin to activate and lock the cam. The inside had been drilled so much that it had snapped while drilling. The tradesman had then given up!

The lock cylinder was a ERA Fortress, British Standard 3 star.

The funny thing is, it wasn't the lock cylinder at fault. The gearbox had failed and stopped the cam on the lock cylinder from rotating.
A common fault with this gearbox.

New gearbox and lock cylinder had it working perfectly.
