Helping young children understand road safety can make a lasting difference, which is why our team was delighted to visit Little Oaks Nursery School alongside Beaumont Traffic Management Ltd.
We introduced the children to road safety through interactive games, role play and hands-on activities, helping them recognise common road signs and practise crossing safely at a pelican crossing.
Activities carried on long after the session had finished, with the children taking the lead in their outdoor play area as pedestrians, drivers and lollipop people, putting their new knowledge into practice.
All children received a take-home road safety pack, produced jointly by Montel Civil Engineering and Beaumont Traffic Management, helping families continue those important conversations at home.
Montel Civil Engineering, Beaumont Traffic Management and Little Oaks Nursery came together to deliver an engaging learning experience, demonstrating how collaboration can help inspire the next generation while supporting the local community.
The session was delivered as part of our social value work as appointed contractor for Gloucestershire County Council’s Black Dog Way and London Road cycleway, a vital infrastructure upgrade that links the Gloucester City Centre Spine with existing cycle routes along London Road.
Thank you to Little Oaks Nursery for welcoming us and to Beaumont Traffic Management for helping make the session such a success.
Quote from Laura Hogg, Associate Director at Beaumont Traffic Management:
"It was a real pleasure to visit Little Oaks Nursery and see first-hand the vital role they play for NHS families in the community. As a business that works on live roadworks every day, it was great to spend time with the children talking about road safety, helping them understand how routes can change during construction, spot the new signs that appear around roadworks, and know what they mean and how to stay safe when walking past or through sites”.
