Lovely couple of days at Nature in Art with the One World Imagined exhibition, a very brief day with Jord Price yesterday and a happy chatty day with Jess Clarke today. We stopped off at Tewkesbury Abbey on the way home to pay homage to the magnificent 400 year old Copper Beech alongside the even older Mulberry Tree. Had a big thunderstorm in the afternoon and glorious cloudscapes afterwards.
I will be back there on Sunday and Monday, meanwhile my colleagues from the One World Imagined collective will be there until the 6th of September.

My two finished watercolour paintings of a barn owl hunting after a storm that I created from an orginal plein air sketch at Nature in Art during my joint residency with my painting buddy Trevor Smith. We had a wonderful week as always thank you Nature in Art.

I have had a brilliant week at Nature in Art so far and have also managed to complete to watercolours despite a lot of talking to our many visitors!!
The first went wrong ' The approaching storm' the paper was damaged and after three "washing out" of the sky I gave up loved his the maram grass turned out so I put in some trees.
'After the storm' from my original plein air sketch (which I will add shortly) after a suggestion from Trev I changed the dark blue to indigo, which is more transparent, it did what I wanted 🤗
The original plein air sketch from 2023 added to the photos it has only taken me 4 years to recreate it. Quite a short length of time has elapsed which is unusual for me it is usually about 10+ years!!

Pleased with the layout in the lovely air conditioned studio at Nature in Art. Despite the heat we have had lots of visitors the last two days.
A couple of spaces on the wall which is rather special too!!

Looking forward to my week as an artist in residence at Nature in Art until Sunday 16th of October with my painting buddy Trevor Smith watercolourist and sketch book artist extradinaire.
I have been playing and experimenting with the Silver leaf again.
Lovely air conditioned studio so do come and visit if you feel like a day out.
The British Wildlife Photography Competition Winners is on in the main gallery at Nature in Art.
