With August Bank Holiday around the corner, we would like to remind the public that the Viking Trail is closed.

A falling tree can weigh several tonnes and hit the ground at 60 mph. If a harvesting machine chain snaps, it can fly like a bullet through the forest.

With this in mind, please do not attempt to ride the Viking Trail.

Thank you for continuing to follow the safety signs and closures.

We have just ONE forest left on our 2026 Forestry Tour… which leaves us with one very important question 👀👇

🌲 Where do YOU want to see us in 2027? 🚲

We’ve absolutely loved every minute of this year’s Forestry Tour — meeting so many new faces, introducing kids to cycling and watching their confidence and skills grow from session to session. ❤️

But now we want to know where should we go next?

What does your local forest need to make it the perfect Forestry Tour stop?

🌿 A large, relatively flat grassed area — minimum 20m x 40m
🚻 Amenities nearby
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Good footfall
🚲 And, most importantly, lots of kids who’d love the chance to ride!

If you think your local forest needs a visit from the Hope Academy Forestry Tour, drop the name of the forest below 👇

We’ll see what we can do… 👀

Who knows, maybe we’ll see you there in 2027! 🚲🌲

Wildlife Wednesday 🐝

Have you looked at an Oak Tree and seen something weird? This is an Oak Knopper Gall, which is caused by a wasp laying its eggs on the Oak's flowers. The flower then turns into a deformed acorn or "Gall" 🌳

A mysterious event in the skies above Rendlesham Forest? 🌘

Usually we'd be talking about UFO sightings, but today it's the turn of the Moon.
As the solar eclipse unfolds, visitors can experience another rare phenomenon above the famous forest canopy. Whether you're here for the mysteries, the wildlife or simply a woodland walk, today is a reminder that nature can be every bit as fascinating as fiction.

If you're viewing the eclipse, remember to use approved solar viewing glasses and never look directly at the Sun. 😎
