⚡ Dangerous Fake Bonding Found During an EICR ⚡

While carrying out an EICR at this property, I discovered the main bonding had been falsely connected.

The cable had actually been cut and simply poked through the walls at both ends to make it appear connected. ❌

This meant the property had no effective bonding protection in place, creating a serious electrical safety risk.

To minimise disruption inside the school, we installed new bonding externally using black conduit to keep the installation neat, protected, and discreet. We also picked up both bonding points on the route to ensure everything was correctly connected and compliant. ✔️

Work carried out:
✔️ Fault finding and investigation
✔️ New correctly installed bonding cable
✔️ External black conduit installation
✔️ Proper tested connections at both ends
✔️ Installation brought back to a safe and compliant standard

This is exactly why EICRs are so important — hidden faults like this often go unnoticed for years.
