Dependable People, Working With You, For You. Dewsbury & Proud are able to offer a total service from the initial enquiry to the completion of the lift.

This may encompass site visits, risk assessments and writing of method statements, the use of Slinger banksmen or Appointed Persons, block grabs, man baskets, traffic management and road closures. All of our operators, appointed persons, lifting supervisors and support staff are qualified to the recognised industry standards and all employees have a personal training and development plan. All of our cranes, lifting and associated equipment are thoroughly examined and inspected by independent, third-party engineers. Dewsbury & Proud work to the terms and conditions of the Construction Plant Hire Association (CPA) and in accordance with BS7121, The Safe Use of Cranes. Under these we offer both CPA Crane Hire and CPA Contract Lift.

Our Grove GMK4100L-2 was recently on site assisting with the lifting and positioning of modular buildings during the early stages of the Bicycle Works scheme, part of Wolverhampton's landmark Smithgate regeneration development.

With Wolverhampton being home to our Head Office, many of our employees and customers, it's particularly rewarding to contribute to a project bringing new homes, investment and regeneration to the city.

A proud moment at Vertikal 2026.

Our Director, Jack Proud, joined the team at the show for the official handover of the latest addition to the Dewsbury & Proud fleet — our new Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1.

Featured on the Liebherr stand throughout the event, it was great to see our newest machine on display before making its way back to us and getting ready for work.

Planning drives performance.

For this dual-crane operation at a historic castle, comprehensive RAMS formed the foundation of a safe and controlled lift.

The operation involved lifting both a man basket and goods cage to facilitate maintenance works at height, requiring careful planning around load sharing, access constraints, ground conditions, lift sequencing, exclusion zones and personnel responsibilities.

Our Risk Assessments and Method Statements allow us to engineer the operation before arriving on site — ensuring safety, compliance and operational control are built into every stage of the lift.

By the time our cranes were set up and ready to lift, the operation had already been methodically planned and coordinated. The result: a disciplined lift, executed safely and exactly as intended.

At Dewsbury & Proud Ltd, we are always pleased to welcome visitors who share our passion for the lifting industry. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Jacobus, a dedicated crane enthusiast who travelled from the Netherlands to visit our facilities and explore our fleet.

For more than six years, Jacobus has travelled across numerous countries, visiting crane companies and documenting the industry through his passion for heavy lifting equipment. His enthusiasm reflects the strong global community that continues to support and celebrate our industry.

During his visit, Jacobus toured our facilities, learnt more about our operations and got up close to a number of our cranes. Among his favourites were our Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 and LTM 1090-4.2, praising the LTC's versatility and elevated operator's cab, alongside the LTM 1090's overall design.

Reflecting on his visit, Jacobus said:

"The facilities are very spacious, and there are great plans in place for future expansion. What stood out most to me was how friendly the team were and the willingness to make my visit a great one. All staff were very helpful and easy to talk to. I'd encourage anyone with a passion for cranes and heavy lifting equipment to stay humble, patient, and always be kind."
