Good lead times start with having the right capability in-house.

Our 6kW fibre laser allows us to respond quickly and efficiently to a wide range of customer requirements—from one-off components and prototypes through to repeat batches and larger production quantities.

Bringing laser cutting in-house gives us greater control over:

• Production schedules and lead times
• Cut quality, accuracy and repeatability
• Material usage through efficient sheet nesting
• Progress from drawing through to finished component

We can also coordinate secondary operations including deburring, tapping, countersinking, folding, welding, fabrication and finishing—giving customers one clear route from initial enquiry to completed work.

For us, it isn’t simply about cutting parts quickly. It’s about providing accurate quotations, realistic lead times and a dependable service that helps our customers keep their own projects moving.

Quality is about far more than the finished fabrication.

A clean weld and a well-finished component are important, but genuine quality runs through every stage of a job.

It starts with understanding the customer’s requirements and checking the drawings properly. It continues through material inspection, cutting, forming and fabrication—and finishes with documented quality checks, photographs and a thorough handover.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes at AJW Fabrications to strengthen these processes and improve consistency across every project.

These details might not always be visible in the finished product, but they give our customers confidence that their work has been checked, recorded and completed properly.

Good workmanship will always be at the heart of what we do. The systems surrounding that workmanship help us deliver it consistently as the business continues to grow.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared plenty about the continued growth of AJW Fabrications.

From putting our 6kW fibre laser through its paces to showcasing completed fabrication work, the aim behind every investment we make is simple: to help us solve more problems for our customers.

Sometimes a customer arrives with a finished drawing. Other times, they come to us with a failed component, a production issue or simply an idea that needs turning into a practical solution.

By keeping laser cutting, forming, MIG and TIG welding, and fabrication in-house, we can support projects from the initial conversation through to the finished product—giving us greater control over quality, accuracy and lead times.

As our workload and customer base continue to grow, so does our team.

We’re still recruiting for an experienced Stainless Steel/Mild Steel Welder/Fabricator to join us in Wisbech, either on a full-time or subcontract basis.

We do apologise for not posting anything for a while, here are a few jobs we’ve been working on lately.

We’ve recently designed and installed a small incline conveyor and a 34m long conveyor for one of our customers. Plus we’ve been very busy fabricating and installing pipework.

We can also turn our hands to bespoke works like the stainless steel sculpture which featured at the Chelsea Flower Show.
