🚨 £1040 LOSS IN ONE DAY 🚨

Low loader - £600
Van Call Out - £50
Fitters labour - £180
Van mileage - £36
VAT - £174

To make this easier to swallow I won't charge my customer
Van Call Out and mileage.
Unfortunately the low loader trip and time has to be paid and engineers hrs too.

Communication in this industry is becoming an absolute nightmare.

One simple bit of information could have saved time, stress and money. Instead — wasted journey, wasted day and another bill to swallow.

I didn’t even ask the bloke why nobody mentioned the starter motor was already packed up. I think if I had asked, I’d have ended up even more angry than I already was.

People wonder why jobs become expensive and delayed — this is exactly why.

A good engineer can fix machinery.
Bad communication can destroy the whole day before the work even starts.

Just as proof of what is going on in the world at this moment… 😅

A couple of years ago I’d hand a 20L drum of hydraulic oil to the customer like it was a free bottle of water.

Now I’ve just paid £90 for the same barrel.
Invoice attached because apparently hydraulic oil is now a luxury commodity 😂

£4.50 a litre. WTF.

Back in the day:
“Yeah mate, keep the oil.”

Now:
I stand next to the barrel like private security making sure nobody touches it 😅

At this point I’m not transporting hydraulic oil in the van anymore.
I’m moving high-value liquid assets.

Soon mechanics will need:
• CCTV
• armed es**rt
• fingerprint access
• and finance approval
just to refill a hydraulic tank 😂

If you see a machine leaking oil in 2026, please report it directly to the financial crimes unit. 🚨😂
