⚠️ Not all solar installations are created equal… ⚠️

These photos highlight two common installation issues that can lead to problems down the line if not carried out correctly.

📸 Photo 1: The roof tile hasn’t been properly cut around the solar roof hook. Instead of allowing the hook to pass through cleanly, it’s putting pressure on the tile. This can lead to cracked tiles, water ingress, and unnecessary stress on the mounting system.

📸 Photo 2: The solar DC cables have simply been sandwiched between the roof tiles rather than being routed through a purpose-made cable flashing or entry gland. Cables should never be trapped between tiles, as this can cause abrasion, damage to the insulation, and increase the risk of water ingress over time.

A solar installation should be designed to last 25+ years, so it’s essential that every detail is completed to a high standard—not just what you can see once the panels are installed.
