Golden hour on the coast.

As the sun dips toward the horizon, this sheltered courtyard at Beach House becomes a natural gathering space. Just steps from the shoreline, it balances comfort and warmth with the raw beauty of the coastal setting.

Layered textures, soft furnishings, and shifting coastal light create an atmosphere that feels both calm and deeply connected to its surroundings.

A retreat designed for relaxation and togetherness, just moments from the water.

Design begins with dialogue.

Every site, every client, and every brief is unique, which is why our process is rooted in collaboration. From early sketches and workshop sessions through to technical delivery, ideas evolve collectively, shaped by the combined expertise of our team.

Our architects bring together sustainable thinking, design innovation, and on-site experience to unlock the potential of even the most complex sites.

Meet the team: Ross

Say hello to Ross, one of our talented Associates who joined the Wi******er team in 2021. With years of experience spanning residential developments, private homes, public buildings, and even temporary installations, Ross brings both creative energy and technical expertise to every project.

He’s often the first port of call for feasibility studies and early design thinking, usually with a pencil in hand. Right now, he’s working across a diverse mix of projects, including housing in South London, a mixed-use scheme in Haywards Heath, a car recycling centre, and a private home in the North Wessex Downs.

In his own words:
“I’ve been lucky to work in some fantastic practices, and OB is right up there with the best of them. The team is creative, agile, determined, and packed to the gunwales with talented designers. It’s a great team!”.

Outside the studio? Ross juggles life with three energetic boys, slow progress on learning French, and an enduring love of the mountains (and cake... lots of cake).

A building defined by its detail.

At Greyfort House, brick is more than a material, it’s a narrative thread. The façade explores South London’s lighter brick palette, with bronze and fine detailing shaping a contemporary, sculptural landmark.

This project highlights how refined detailing elevates urban architecture, creating buildings that sit comfortably within their context while offering something distinctive.

Where Shore Meets Shelter – Seamless Coastal Living

Step out of the sea and into serenity; this coastal retreat is designed to flow effortlessly from shoreline to sanctuary.

Natural materials, such as weathered timber, warm stone, and soft finishes, blur the lines between indoors and out, creating a home that feels moulded by its surroundings.

A sunlit corridor draws you forward, revealing expansive ocean views that invite pause, reflection, and reconnection with nature. This is coastal living at its most effortless and refined.

Sunlit by Design – A Home That Follows the Light

In designing this contemporary Hampshire home, we carefully aligned the building to both embrace sweeping countryside views and harness natural light throughout the day.

Its orientation ensures sunlight floods key living and entertaining spaces from mid-morning through to sunset, creating a warm, vibrant atmosphere that evolves with the day.

We’re excited to see this vision take shape on site soon. Follow along for updates in the near future.

Dusk by the fire

As the light fades, the house begins to slow.

Set around a quiet courtyard, the fire pit becomes a natural point to gather, a place to pause after time spent by the sea. Warm light flickers across brick and stone, softening the space as evening settles in.

A simple moment, shaped by material, enclosure, and atmosphere.

A quieter arrival

Set within the Surrey countryside, Treetops reveals itself gradually.

From the road, the approach is calm and restrained, soft off-white brick and a rhythm of stone columns guiding you towards the entrance. It’s a deliberate contrast to what lies beyond, holding back the wider views and drama of the site.

A considered sequence, designed to heighten the experience of arrival.

Coastal living, reimagined

This home turns the traditional layout on its head, placing bedrooms below and lifting the main living spaces up into the light and views.

A sandstone wall draws you through the house, flowing from outside in and guiding the journey up to a bright, open living space framed by expansive glazing and the sea beyond.

A simple shift in layout, designed to make the most of its setting.
