Some highlights from the past week:

✅ Measured out reclaimed granite cobbles to be used as driveway edging
✅ Provided a bespoke slate hearth- cut to size and sealed ready for use
✅ Took some solid oak flooring into stock. These are pre-finished…….
✅….. so just needed a little oil to revive
✅ Added this unique detail to a piece of slate paving
✅ Restored this cast iron fireback ready for its next life

Here’s a few things we’ve been up to at Winchcombe Reclamation this past week:
✅ Took this (new) walling stone into stock
✅ Added these 20” x 10” slates to our stocks of reclaimed roofing materials
✅ Carefully cleaned up a run of traditional Cotswold stone ridge tiles
✅ Supplied this weathered sandstone paving to a local landscaping project
✅ Laid out a sample of reclaimed building stone to find the right match for a restoration project
✅ Measured out an order of reclaimed quoins - all hand selected to suit the building
✅ Started some alterations in the showroom - these panels (originally the backs of church pews) have been used to build a new partition

Some of what we’ve been up to this week:
✅ Started carefully hand-dressing and sizing stone tiles into stock
✅ Supplied this lovely weathered York stone to be used as coping on a wide wall
✅ Found the perfect stone match for a restoration project (always the bag at the bottom, at the back!)
✅ Took a batch of these decorative Victorian garden edgings into stock
✅ Salvaged Cotswold stone from a local landscaping project - this is now going on to be a boundary wall in someone else’s garden
✅ Went out sourcing materials - these reclaimed bricks due into stock soon….
✅ Picking blackberries in the yard. It’s a bumper crop this year- feel free to help yourselves!

Originally, quoins were designed to simply reinforce the corners of masonry walls, creating a stronger and more stable structure. As building techniques evolved, they also became an important decorative feature, with contrasting stone sizes, colours and finishes helping to frame a building and emphasise its craftsmanship.

☑️ Salvaged another traditional Cotswold stone roof
☑️ Sorted through our extensive range of reclaimed quoins
☑️ Supplied premium reclaimed York paving to a local restoration project
☑️ Produced bespoke brick slips to be used to line a fireplace
☑️ Helped to select suitable reclaimed timbers for use as ceiling beams
☑️ Salvaged some unique stone fire surrounds- straight into our workshop for restoration
☑️ Bagged tonnes of reclaimed Cotswold stone ahead of next weeks deliveries
