Urban Pest Control

Introducing our new team member Tod to the world of pest Control,
He has already discovered every day is different and every job brings a new challenge, This bird guano clean was definitely a day to remember, working alongside Ryan, our falconer and bird specialist. 4 balconies all looking new again after guano removed, cleaned and bird free gel in place to prevent feral birds from causing any more damage and distress to the home owners.

Whist visiting Warehouse recently, Matt picked up some thistle spikes just in time to complete this bird proofing project for a pent house over looking Mudeford Harbour.
Using combination of thistle spikes and gull spikes on the wider ledges, which are manufactured in the UK, will provide a discreet and humane solution to the pigeons and other nuisance pest birds from landing on the ledges and balcony walls.
The balcony was completed with Bird free gel, supplied by @ which appears as fire to their ultraviolet-sensitive vision and it won’t cause damage to buildings or structures.
Hopefully these solutions will provide our customer with an uninterrupted view.

You may have seen us mention and rave about their products in many of our previous post, but during a recent tour of Defender Bird Spikes warehouse in Devon, taken by Matt & Kelly, it was clear why these are the obvious choice of products and suppliers for our specialised bird projects.
Kursty, David and the team are very passionate about providing their customers with top quality products, they recognise the needs of their customers and they continue to improve this area of the market. Their ecological, patterned designs are manufactured by them in the UK and shipped worldwide. It defiantly takes some of the pressure off when ordering for our projects as we have peace of mind knowing we can buy direct from an award winning company.
But don't take our word on it, check out the team and their products for yourselves.

An enjoyable working lunch last week with Tim Bloomer at The Old Thatch Wimborne, Tim Bloomer is one of our valued sales reps for Killgerm Chemicals Ltd but sadly he will be stepping down from this role in the coming months.
Our Director Matt reflects back on their many meetings together, " I met Tim 14 years ago, in a restaurant in Poole Quay, just before I started Urban Pest Control, he has always offered his full support and been on hand with technical advice, we have shared many fun moments together during his networking events and I now consider Tim as a friend"
We would like to take the opportunity to wish Tim the best of luck in his new job role, you will be greatly missed but they will gain a wonderful asset to their team.

Defender Bird Spikes are one of our top suppliers, they offer humane, long-lasting products to prevent birds from landing and roosting on ledges and buildings. Each month Defender hold a friendly competition called "Installer of the month", They decided to introduce 3 special guest judges to this series. The third and final judge is our very own Director, Matt.

June’s Installer of the Month is officially open, and this month the judging baton is being handed to Matt Phillips from Urban Pest Control . The last but by no means least in our series of 3 guest judges 🏆🐦

Matt has been in pest control for 20 years and has been Director of Urban Pest Control for 13 years, so he knows his way around a tricky bird job.

He loves bird work because no two jobs are the same. Different sites, different problems and sometimes a clever mix of methods to get the best result.

So what will impress him?

Attention to detail, smart product choices, combined methods, safe access and, of course, those lovely little details that turn a good job into a trophy worthy one. 😄

So start posting your work with Defender Bird Spikes, let us share it on socials and let’s see who takes the trophy this month! 🏆🏆🏆

Let the judging begin. Whoop whoop! 🎉
