Garden overgrown and in need of some attention?

This garden had a fallen and dead tree following dry, drought conditions, along with overgrown hedges and shrubs that were creating too much shade.

The work included pruning back overgrown growth, removing dead material and opening up the garden to allow more light through.

Regular pruning and maintenance can help keep shrubs, hedges and smaller trees healthy, manageable and looking their best.

Garden Tidy-Up | Broadstone

This garden had been unmanaged for some time and was in need of a good tidy-up.

Shrubs, climbers, hedges and perennials were cut back, with the plant borders tidied to create a neater, more cared-for appearance.

The prolonged heat has made growing conditions challenging, particularly for the hydrangeas and many of the perennials.

With increasingly unpredictable weather, we may also need to rethink our planting choices — selecting plants that can cope with periods of heat and dry conditions, as well as heavy and prolonged rainfall.

Choosing the right plants for the conditions is becoming increasingly important.
