A busy few weeks here at Dampsolve! The whole team have been working hard to finish up the last few properties on the latest social projects here in Devon. A huge thanks to our regular contractors that trust us to consistently deliver our services.

We have seen our most successful year to date carrying out cavity wall extractions and installations. With a huge increase in private homeowners requesting works too, especially after the soaking wet winter.

We have employed more staff so our operations can run smoothly and a change of certification to join The Installation Assurance Authority (The IAA) and become TrustMark registered, also confirmed this week.

Finally, with the NMW rising around 4% and despite being locked into current rates, we made the decision to raise everyone's wages by 4% too! The pay/skill gap seems to constantly shrink, it shouldn't be like this.

We look forward to what's coming next. New projects, new challenges and a strong team to deliver it.

A glorious day in Dawlish this week having our on site visit with The IAA. Some news i can share more on next week hopefully.

Whilst the sun is shining it's easy to forgot about home insulation and the savings it creates. Our bead truck availability is always the best in April as the new financial year stalls the usual contracts.

Thermabead installation from as little as £15/M² April is the best month to get your home insulated and save on the ever rising bills 😬

A great day out and a chance to see Corey, Lee and Adam among others in the Hyland Motorsport camp.
We are once again sponsors for Corey's 26 campaign and today's race was the perfect start with 2 wins, fastest laps and a PB.
Good luck for the rest of the season 🥇

Hi everyone, we just wanted to share an update on bookings as we understand the endless wet weather has caused many issues with old and failing insulation! We seem to be rolling on an 8 week lead time for work to be completed, even surveys are 4 weeks in advance as we stand.
We also appreciate our customers want and need these issues rectified asap which is why we wanted to post this update instead of closing the diary again.
Our promise to those happy to wait is of course a transparent and competitive price and a job done right. Thank you.

The website is working again 🙌🏼 if you've submitted a contact form since Christmas and haven't had a reply, there's a good chance we never received it 🤦‍♂️

I do apologise but please reach out again and Lauren or myself will get back to everyone ASAP.

Thanks,

Hi everyone, this is still happening frequently and it's so infuriating. Vulnerable people especially targeted.

Spray foam insulation companies are specifically targeting the elderly, leaving behind substandard work for large invoices.
Once again we have been out locally in Willand to look over a spray foam removal job as the owners seek a second opinion.
I write this as awareness for homeowners. Please be aware of the signs and do not get conned.

The things to look out for:
- Companies typically operating from Bournemouth or Poole seem to be the hotspot for these cowboys.
- Cold callers offering free surveys or free spray foam insulation.
- Existing spray foam installations being offered 'free' maintenance checks.

The con nearly always plays out the same way. The unfortunate target has already been sold spray foam insulation (waste of money) a cold caller from a different named company will often offer a free health check on the spray foam (funny enough, they already have your address, names and phone number) and they will say the roof is at risk of condensation etc. They will pressure the owners into a discounted price if they accept a removal cost on the day and demand a deposit.

Then comes the worst part. They will remove 'most' of the spray foam and generally hack the roof felt to pieces. Before the owners see the work the magic foil comes out and the roof is hidden from view.

The end result:
The felt is now needing replacement, the foil is doing nothing thermally, the loft insulation has been removed so now the house is colder, and the poor owner has been relieved of £4-7000.00 and to top of off the foam hasn't even been fully removed.

We see this so often, please beware. Please remind parents and relatives not to accept these cold caller deals on the phone or on the doorstep.

Yes, spray foam insulation can be a problem but let's at least remove it properly.

Wow, this year has flown by!!

Another year with minimal social media input, so here we are for probably our final post in 2025.

We have been incredibly busy in recent times with the diary currently into March 2026. It's only this way through the constant hard work by all members of our team; keeping our reputation high and our regular contractors, who trust us to deliver the work to a high quality and on time, supplying a constant work flow over various projects.

Thank you sincerely to you all!

We have also made some hard decisions this year too. We have ultimately lost friendships to ensure stability and turned down work we would not be able to fulfill. It's not always sunshine and smiles running a business.

I hope 2026 allows us to continue delivering our services across the private and social sectors and we look forward to working with new and regular faces.

The video below was a recent inspection carried out near Exeter. We hit a rat run directly in the centre. Makes you think, that sound in the wall... perhaps it wasn't just the wind?!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎉🎆
