The challenges of the Drought! ☀️
We support the Turfgrass Growers Association’s work to highlight the challenges currently facing UK turf production.
With 71.3% of England experiencing drought conditions, this summer has once again demonstrated just how exposed turf production can be to prolonged dry weather and extreme temperatures.
For growers, the impact extends far beyond the immediate weather conditions. Higher irrigation and energy costs, crop damage, reduced yields and lengthy recovery programmes all add to the cost and risk of producing quality turf.
Maintaining a strong UK turf-growing sector matters to everyone who depends on a reliable supply of quality turf, from landscapers and contractors to sports facilities, housebuilders and homeowners.
