DXI have just passed our ISO 9001 audit with a clean sheet. 0 non-conformances and 0 opportunities for improvement.

Since our last audit, we’ve worked hard on building our understanding of ISO requirements, how we can improve as a business, and areas where we’re overcomplicating things or not quite meeting the standards. This led to a smooth-sailing audit with a result we’re very happy with.

We’ve also been working towards ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, with the help of Mark1. We’ve focussed on getting the foundations of ISO 9001 right, and done most of the groundwork ready to achieve all three very soon.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone across DXI who has been involved. 👏

We had a great couple of days at the Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS Expo), meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces and showcasing what DXI has to offer.

A few weeks ago we held a meeting to discuss safety culture and what it means in practice.

Safety is DXI's number one priority. While it's supported by policies and procedures, it's ultimately shaped by people and their everyday behaviours. It's the manager who stops work when something doesn't look right, or the operative who feels confident to challenge an unsafe act.

A positive safety culture exists when we genuinely care about each other's wellbeing and feel comfortable speaking up without fear of criticism or blame.

We read the poem "I Chose to Look the Other Way" by Don Merrell. The poem explores a difficult subject, but is a powerful reminder of our personal responsibility to challenge unsafe behaviours, and our collective responsibility to create an environment where others feel able to do the same.

The meeting was an opportunity for us to gain valuable feedback from the team and identify how DXI can continue to strengthen its safety culture.

Project Completion in Bury St Edmunds 👷‍♂️

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of our latest project, transforming an existing waste transfer station for FCC Environment on behalf of Suffolk County Council. The DXI team has carried out modification works to ensure the facility is fully equipped to accept food waste and create greater separation of waste streams.

Our team delivered the following modifications for the facility:
- Drainage and Containment: Installed high-performance drains and a specialised leachate tank to manage runoff securely and sustainably.
Structural Enhancements: Installed 12m of robust concrete block walling to create dedicated, durable containment zones. We also relocated structural steel works, installed new doorway openings and re-clad to perfectly match existing.
- Floor Restoration: Completely refinished the bay floor to withstand food waste run off.
- Access & Maintenance: Installed a brand-new roller shutter door system alongside a custom pressure washer system to keep the facility and vehicles pristine.

A huge well done and thank you to the site team! This project is a fantastic example of how we can repurpose existing assets to meet the evolving needs of waste management and sustainability. If we can help support you with similar projects then just get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to oversee and conduct site surveying and engineering works. The role involves working across multiple sites, mainly in the North West of England, with occasional work beyond.

Job Responsibilities:
👷‍♀️ Oversee and conduct site surveying and engineering works, ensuring projects meet timeline, quality, and financial targets.
👷‍♀️ Communicate company objectives clearly to team members.
👷‍♀️ Ensure full compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards and procedures.
👷‍♀️ Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction, timely submission of as-built drawings, volumetric calculations, and performance tracking.
👷‍♀️ Map and analyse data using mathematical modelling methods
👷‍♀️ Promote the company’s professional image through strong documentation, positive attitude, and high presentation standards.
👷‍♀️ Work with and support junior team members, acting as a mentor and coach, encouraging knowledge-sharing and team harmony.

Candidate Requirements:
👷‍♂️ Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
👷‍♂️ Proficiency in earthworks, remediation techniques, and volumetric modelling.
👷‍♂️ Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint AutoCAD and N4CE).
👷‍♂️ Competent in 3D modelling and setting out using modern surveying technology.
👷‍♂️ Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
👷‍♂️ A valid UK driving licence and CSCS card.
👷‍♂️Familiarity with estimating, take-offs, cost/value reporting, and programme planning.

DXI ARE HIRING: SHEQ MANAGER

We’re looking for a proactive and confident SHEQ Manager to drive safety, health, environmental, and quality excellence across our projects. In this role, you’ll promote best practice across multiple sites, supporting and coaching teams to work safely and effectively.

This role primarily covers sites across the North West, with occasional travel further afield.

Key Responsibilities:
👷‍♂️ Champion SHEQ best practice across multiple projects
👷‍♂️ Conduct and report on site inspections, audits and safety observation reports
👷‍♂️ Identify risks and drive safe behaviours on site
👷‍♂️ Support RAMS reviews and ensure compliance
👷‍♂️ Deliver inductions and toolbox talks
👷‍♂️ Collaborate with supply chain partners to uphold SHEQ standards
👷‍♂️ Contribute to continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture
👷‍♂️ Supporting compliance with accreditations such as ISO9001, Constructionline and SMAS

Ideal Candidates:
👷‍♀️ NEBOSH qualification
👷‍♀️ Good understanding of current UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
👷‍♀️ Experience in a similar role within the construction industry
👷‍♀️ Organised, confident and assertive, with the ability to influence and engage effectively with teams at all levels
👷‍♀️ Full UK driving licence
👷‍♀️ Valid CSCS card
👷‍♀️ Experience with Chime Construction Software
